Cokie Roberts “Disastrous” Segment
By: John Amato @ 1:35 PM - PDT

Cokie has no idea what she’s talking about and it’s frankly very disturbing. Donaldson on the other hand seems to understand the situation a bit better. He knows Bush has been using Lieberman’s blind support for him at the detriment of Democrats and the country. I understand that many in the media want to smear the blogs, but every poll says America wants us out of Iraq and thinks this war was a mistake. So who is in the center of American opinion and who is out of touch with it–the blogs or Cokie and George Will?

3. That Video Really Puts Everything in a Nutshell
The establishment Democrats (DLC, Hillary, Cokie's angle) versus America.

Quite a contrast between Sam Donaldson and Cokie.

Cokie is the daughter of deceased Louisiana Senator Hale Boggs, if I'm not mistaken. He died in an airplane crash in Alaska.

To me, this is a discussion of our party and where it is going: Southern Democrats (Clinton/Boggs/Erskine Bowles/DLC types) versus Northeastern Democrats (Lamont/Kerry/Cuomo).

I know that's a bit of a stretch, but that's a new idea that hit me today watching the rounds on the TV.

Don't beat me up because I haven't had time to digest it all yet.

This is a "stream of consciousness" post, for sure.

Personally, I am pulling for Lamont. But that goes without saying.

5. Cokie's point is well taken. Actually, there's agreement with her at DU
Roberts was simply saying that a hard shift to the left for the Democrats will be a disaster if that trend reflects who we nominate for president in 2008. I agree.

For Connecticut, I think it's great. Liebermann is being taken behind the woodshed for his pro-war, pro-Bush stance, and the message being sent to the rest of the elected Dems is great. Hillary Clinton received the message loud and clear. On this point, Donaldson and I agree. However, if this move by Connecticut signals a strong shift to the left, we're screwed in 2008. I agree with Will and Roberts on that.

Roberts's point is actually embraced by the large number of DU posters who refuse to budge on issues important to the Green Party. And, no doubt, the Greens are definitely to the left of the average DU'er.

7. Sam Donelson was right- the polls indicate that our "extreme left wing"
position is where most Americans are right now.

9. When it comes to the war. Which, of course, is Liebermann's problem.

12. How many Democrats believe her swill?
It's gotta be 60-percent or so. Even my wife still sometimes thinks Cokie's a real reporter. All I gotta do is remind her of what side Cookee took in Selection 2000, ENRON Energy Policy, 911 or most of the rest of the Bush Crime Family happenings and she's back with us.

Regarding Cokie the Whore: Thanks to her middle-of-the-road crapola, the Democrats have been losing elections for a long time. The part where she says until Bill Clinton, "No Democrat has reelected to the presidency" wouldn't be so if JFK had not died in Dallas. Her old man was on the Warren Commission and doubting that Oswald did it alone, but Hale Boggs was willing to shut his mouth and go along. When his mouth did pop open, his plane disappeared over Alaska somewhere. It's not weird that Cokie's never had an interest in finding out who killed JFK.
