I notice quite a pro-Israel bias here at the DU. Any particular reason for this? Am I not looking at this correctly.
I think peace should be the "bias" and not any religious or political affiliations.

2. What's funny about this is the pro-Israeli zealots think the opposite. |
|
I'm sure they'll tell you as such shortly too.
But yes, you are one step short of Satan and Hitler if you don't rubber stamp everything Israel does. :eyes:

been run by DUers that show most DUers are decidedly not Pro-Israeli, and certainly not supportive of Israel's bombing and invasion of Lebanon. Or are you referring to the admin? They, I think, try only to be fair, and to keep things from combusting.

6. I think most DU'ers are anti-war and pro-peace. Most are horrified by |
|
Israel's aggression and targeting of civilians and civilian and rescue services. There are a few here who seem to support any war crime Israel commits - they can defend themselves.

quite a while, I can tell you that those rules lead to a thoughtful and disciplined debate, and further knowledge. At first I hated the rules, but as time went on, i began to appreciate them. I think most regulars there feel approximately the same.

many people who are new to the discussion might require background info not allowed by rules although much of it that does get posted slips by before moderators lock it or delete it.

8. I've had a few posts deleted......... |

for speaking my opinion about the situation. They weren't hostile, bigoted or in any way, anti-semitic but someone apparently didn't like them. Why? I can't say......
Read this quick before it's deleted.

9. It's too simplistic to say "pro" or "anti" Israel. |
|
We keep falling into the same trap over and over again. The Republican strategists use terms like "pro" and "anti" to divide people. You can support Israel and its' people and still disapprove of what their government is doing. We do that here, right? I think that Israel has the right to exist. I also think that Israel grossly overreacted to two soldiers being taken and used the incident as an excuse to attack. I'm not "anti" Israel, just as I'm not "anti" American.

12. How many have bitten the dust in the past couple of weeks though? |

The casualty count must be quite high by now. I know several distinguished Duers were ejected unceremoniously, I wish that an "Administrative Amnesty" would be considered. I understand that many are probably back under new screen names, but I would like to see them back as their old personae.

13. You actually found one pro-Israel post at DU???? Is that what......... |
|
....leads you to think there is a pro-Israel bias?? I've only seen one pro-Israel post in well over three weeks now and even that was flamed unmercifully.

I see more sympathy for Hezbollah than on some Islamic sites. I've heard about "rooting for the underdog", but please!

Or did you mean one thread? Read any of these threads and you will see pro-isreali things written, some of them virulently defensive. The Professor
