Connecticut Rs calling WJ saying they'll vote for Lieberman
if he runs as an Indepedent. Labor calling in supporting him too. Sounds like he's trying the Gephardt strategy.

4. They're trying to goad him into running against the Democratic nominee.

He's foolish enough to do it too. He'll lose an independant bid, but not before wasting Democratic resources in the process and damaging Democratic chances at a majority in Congress.

5. From what I have read, seems many--are giving this issue a second
thought--including some Dems. There is a certain affection for Joe and for many the war is not the primary--it is important, but not the only issue.

6. The latest poll's probably best for Lamont really (6 point lead)
Still solidly ahead, close enough to scare supporters into not taking this like anywhere near a sure thing. If he has any shot at all, he's maximizing his chances like this. Good luck to him and his people.

7. Boy, I hope you are wrong.
Joe is defiantly a DINO. He is only out done slightly by Zell.

8. I thought the whole process on WJ sucked!
What's with the TWO lines for Lieberman.....call 202-xxx-xxxx if you support Lieberman, call 202-xxx-xxxx if you're a repuke and then call 202-xxx-xxxx if you're a Democrat! Lieberman is like a sweet kitten.....likeable and soft.

10. Why do polls always seem to get closer as the election nears?
Is there a certain amount of engineering opinion here? How can anyone be undecided so late in this game?

12. If it is like in MO, you don't have to register as either R or D
So unless there is a rigorous challenge system by the Dems at the voting area, when a voter declares the party primary they wish to vote, a voter can get away with voting in the other party ---in other words, they can spoil the election. I sure hope they have to register as either D or R or I in CT.

I have feared the cross-over for Lie- burrman all along.

GO LAMONT!!!

13. I believe this is talking about the final election not the primary
Only registered Dems can vote in the Dem primary.

14. No, you can't. The primaries are closed.
Last day to switch from one party to another for this primary was May 8. The Republicans are saying they will vote if Lieberman runs as an Indy, not in the primary.

15. according to a post I saw yesterday...
I don't have a link, but a CT DUer said yesterday that unaffiliated voters can declare a party right up to election day, but if you're already registered with a party, you have to switch 90 days in advance. So registered Republicans can't do anything at this late date.

16. Independents can switch until noon today
The date to switch from Republican to Dem was a while ago, and you must be registered with a party to vote in that party's primary. I didn't hear WJ, but obviously the callers don't know what they're talking about, and it sounds like whoever was hosting was clueless too.
