Joe's Hail Mary pass still completely misses the source of anger
Edited on Mon Aug-07-06 08:25 AM by Atman
So joltin' Joe Lieberman, according to a report on NPR this morning, says he is opposed to the Iraq war and always has been. Sure. As I finished laughing at that one, the report went on to play clips of Joe saying how we've misunderstood him. That he opposes the war, always has, but -- and here we go -- but if we choose to "run away" as "my opponent wants to do" (really? I've been following the campaign closely and I can't see anything from Lamont saying anything of the sort), then Iraq will become a disaster and fall into sectarian civil war.

NEWSFLASH FOR JOE (and any assclown who continues to attempt to use that lame argument): WE (THE DEMOCRATS AND WAR OPPONENTS) TOLD YOU ALL OF THIS WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU INVADED IN THE FIRST PLACE. WAY, WAY BACK WHEN WE TOLD YOU THAT, JOE! You act as this was all a big surprise, Joe. You act as if the war was actually going to be, hmmm...let's see, maybe a CAKE WALK! But you were warned over and over and your constituents warned you, and common sense and truth in your heart should have warned you that this was going to happen all along. In fact, the CIA warned of this, too, but Mr. Bush chose to lie to America about that part. We're not sure how much of the lying his secretive rubber-stamping goon squad in Congress was really aware of, but the fact remains, nothing that is happening in Iraq now should be a surprise to ANYONE. The fact that you seem to think we are mad at you, Joe, for events you couldn't have foreseen, is absolute, 100% unmitigated bullshit. All you had to do is LISTEN to your constituents and stand up to the lying administration. Had you done that from the beginning, I'd be the first to hoist you upon my shoulders for your victory parade here.

Instead, I'll be among the first to cheer your departure. Consider it a life lesson, Joe.

4. He forgot to add: "Due to the U.S. invasion of Iraq."
THAT is what caused it become another Afghanistan.

He and his idiotic neo-con allies did this

3. OK....Here's What Joe Needs To Do Today
Talk the talk, Joey...if you are so much now against this invasion, here's two things I suggest you do TODAY...win, lose or draw...promise that as soon as you go back to Washington, you not only sign onto Senator Kerry's call for withdrawl of our forces...but become a co-sponsor!. And while you're at it Joe, why not put your name on Senator Feingold's call for censure of this regime for its handling of this invasion and its abuse of power. Seems if you felt this way all along, Joe, now's the time to cut the bullshit.

But we know Joe ain't gonna do either of these things. He tries to speak out of both sides of his mouth in hopes of scrounging any vote he can get and fool those gullible enough to fall for his "martyr" complex. I'll bet a bright shiny dime if he loses this primary, he'll make life hell for Democrats through the end of his term and then sign a nice juicy "anal-ist" deal with Faux.

Kudos, Atman...you speak what many of us here all agree on. Many of us are that lone 10 or 20 percent who opposed this regime at every step and predicted how this fiasco in Iraq would turn out. No one listened...we were considered "anti-American" or "moonbats"...but we are right! It's time to hold everyone who abetted in this disaster accountable...be it a Democrat or Repugnican.

Cheers...
