Cincinnati radio station plans on ruining Air America
I'm sick of the crap that the owners of 1530 AM keep pulling. They pre-empt the Randi Rhodes show for college basketball games and the coach's show.

This past weekend they were broadcasting 2 shows simultaneously.

Whom do I complain to, or should I drive down there and punch someone's face inside out?

1. Let me guess....
Clear Channel, right? (I believe most Ohio stations are. Is there anything left in that state that's NOT corrupt??)

2. in their defense, we have the same situjation here
the sports contracts predate AAR... by quite a bit. Here they had to wait until a contract ran out wiht Praeger, to finally stop playing him and have a local on the same air time... oh and yes it is clear channel

5. That wouldn't explain the simultaneous broadcast of Lionel & Ring of fire

6. Nope that is a tech not knowing what they are doing
notice the pattern, the AAR stations are the least performing, with the worst staff... and over time they become quite well performing, the story locally.

4. Not only that, they play a half-hour of Malloy at midnight...
and then switch to paid religious programming.

The pre-empt Randi for football too during the football season. I wouldn't be surprised if they pre-empt for college baseball later in the year.

Yes, it's a clear channel station.

8. Agitate-write letters to all the other stations in your area-

letting them know that a part-time patriot is not acceptable. I have been trying to get anything-ANYTHING-even remotely progressive on the air, anywhere around here. I'd be happy, temporarily, to get Randi on the radio even once or twice a week, here, in south central Illinois. No success to report, yet, but I will go on walking the walk, writing letters, making phone calls.
I would find a way to set up a low power repeater here for AAR, but, out in the country as I am, no one would listen to it but me.

9. Ours (Seattle) pre-empts for WSU sports, too
and I don't think it's a Clear Channel station. They also pre-empt for Nascar!

10. Just think of this way
People who wouldn't normally tune into Progressive Radio, tunes in for the football game and that station gets left on the dial. I have listen to baseball games and fell asleep and when I wake up the game is over. So this could happen too. Young males listen to sports on the radio too, and the liberals/democrats need something to lure that key demographic to there side. So something positive might come out of it. This is why networks pay multi-millions for sports right, people have a habit of not changing the station, once the game is over.

interrupting Malloy. I know it's paid advertising, but who the heck is listening to it?

13. I listen to 1530 at night here in Athens, GA!
I usually only catch the Randi rerun and sometimes Lionel. I'm just glad to be able to get an AAR station in my car! 1690 from Atlanta is barely audible much of the time in my area.
