Dead people? Who cares - there's money to be made!
Edited on Mon Aug-07-06 03:50 PM by sparosnare
I awoke at 4:30 am this morning unable to go back to sleep. This is rare for me, and since I was wide awake, decided to see what cable news broadcasts in the middle of the night. For some unknown reason, I ended up on Fox, only to be completely shocked by what I saw and heard over the next several minutes.

Two headlines/topics:

"Busy Hurricane Season: Great for Stocks!"

"Cease-Fire in ME: Bad for Stocks!"

So a panel of so-called stock experts extrapolated on each topic, and explained how such things are good and bad for making money in the stock market and how to invest in times of major catastrophes. Does it surprise anyone that these nuts actually WANT more hurricanes and DON'T WANT the fighting to stop between Israel and Hezbollah? They sat there with giant freakish grins and sparkling eyes while talking about how much money they're making (and you can too!) over death and destruction.

I turned off the TV and drifted back to sleep, hoping what I'd seen was only a nightmare but knowing it wasn't. Sickening.

1. I did see that when I was skipping through the channels as well.
I was rather blown away by it.

3. I found it in incredibly poor taste even for Fox
I guess I really didn't understand how bad that network is cause I don't watch it.

4. Somehow I'm not surprised
I expect someday that Fox will run a show on how to sell grandma's corpse for scrap.

5. I get to watch 2 hours of CNBC for my job, every morning
If you ever want a quick "why they hate us" refresher, watch "Squawk Box" during a disaster or a famine, etc. You can almost the saliva dripping on their teeth.
