Why should a person vote for the democratic party? |

What's your elevator pitch?
If you have 1 minute to make a compelling argument, what is it?

1. My one-sentence pitch for 2006. |
|
"Name one thing that the Republicans haven't screwed up."
(Yeah, I know it's negative. But it's the best I've got.)

Name one successful Republican policy-
It works because no one can do it- no matter how you look at it, there aren't any.

Its pregnant with 1000 questions that need to be asked.
I've been more folksy.
"This bush is a bad guy, these republicans are up to some bad stuff with their wars and repression of women. This is just the beginning and these guys are like the terminator, they will not stop, and in only 6 years, 2 land wars in asia."

7. the last six years.... |
|
and a future for anyone without an inheritance. In a perfect world all democrats would be idealists...pure of body and mind...in this world I'd trade Bill Clinton's USA on his worst day...to George Bush on his best...or any day. I'm not big on moderate thinking...I'm more of an all or nothing kind of person...but you have to start somewhere.

9. If you believe in the things that made America great, |
|
meaning a strong middle class, a healthy economy, equal opportunity for all, the respect of the world, and the Bill of Rights, there is no question you're a Democrat. On the other hand, if you believe in a feudal America with 1% of the populace holding 95% of the wealth, an exponentially-growing national debt and deficit, a polarized society, the enmity of the world, and restricting citizen liberties in the name of some nebulous "war," there is no question you're a (neo-)Republican.
Republicans didn't used to be like this. They used to stand for fiscal conservatism, not fiscal insanity.

12. This is it in a nutshell: |
|
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 07:32 PM by Selatius
It's one minute, right? Here goes:
If you want your children to live without having to pay off the colossal debts your government is currently charging to the future of your children, then you better vote for the Democrats. What you are seeing here is a birth tax. When you are born, you are instantly held responsible for the debt of your forefathers.
If you don't care that they will have to spend the rest of their working lives paying off the debt the current leaders are racking up, then go ahead and vote for the Republicans. Also, if you are happy with the way things are going with the war in Iraq, then keep on voting for the Republicans and be prepared to sacrifice your only begotten son if the government calls upon him to lay his life down in its wars.
