JOe Conason on AAR with Sam Seder, taking Lanny Davis to task
for his WSJ editorial

says Davis, of all else should realize the irony of his writing for them, seeing as how the WSJ was, for many, the epicenter of the antiClinton inquisition in the 90s, when he was a counsel for WJC.

the editorial was lamenting the demise of the demo party, or somesuch, if the Lamont insurgents take over the Connecticut dem party

2. Davis, Peretz and all that ilk...
Are presently shitting themselves, and will be doing it by the tipload if the returns start out bad for Joe and stay there. They know that it will mark the beginning of the end for the Dem beltway cocktail weenie class, especially in DC conventional wisdom. It will als mark a shift of power and momentum to exactly what Howard Dean is working to achieve: people-powered politics on a more localized basis.

It scares them to death. Thats a Good Thing.

4. Which tells you something...
About the people making that suggestion: They seek to weaken the party and scuttle Dean, so they can gain complete control.

A might battle quietly rages and our best interests are not at heart, on one side. Too many closet repukes are in the mix, like Marshall Wittman, a ringer if there was ever one.

5. Do you know how good
it makes me feel to hear about those jackals shitting all over themselves, finally? I and about a million other bloggers feel it couldn't happen to more deserving parasitic crowd of slugs.

6. AAAAA men!!!!
if this could only be the start of the reclamation of some small part of our democracy

not holding breath, by any means, but in a sea of never ending bad news, it's refreshing to get a breath of air, even if it's merely holding off the drowning for a few moments

7. Zidzi, you have no idea...
How parasitic they are. I had my eyes opened, with a 2 ton hydraulic ram, by working for an aborted congressional campaign, in the inner circle. I know all too well, now, the machinations of those slugs and how the process, when they get their greasy lunch hook into it, works.

When I express my undying contempt for Rahm Emanuel, and my desire to never piss up his ass if his guts are on fire, it comes from learning how he and his universal control freak tendancies work. All of the beltway insiders, including EMILYS List, suck eggs and are well past their halflife. They exist only for their self-perpetuation. We, the people, are simply a nuisance to them.

Tonight, for them, is the beginning of sic transit gloria mundi. There is much left to do.

8. I did my own research and found...
Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 07:42 PM by Eric J in MN
...that Lanny J. Davis took a sarcastic quote out-of-context.

A liberal commenter wrote against anti-semitism, and Davis portrayed him as an anti-semite.

The far right does not have a monopoly on bigotry and
hatred and sanctimony. Here are just a few examples...

• On "Lieberman vs. Murtha": "as everybody knows, jews
ONLY care about the welfare of other jews; thanks ever
so much for reminding everyone of this most salient
fact, so that we might better ignore all that jewish
propaganda about participating in the
civil rights movement of the 60s and so on" (by
"tomjones," posted on Daily Kos, Dec. 7, 2005).

LANNY J. DAVIS is deceiving his readers.

Tomjones is being sarcastic.

It is obvious that tomjones is being sarcastic when
one reads the comment in context:

Why Should Joe Care (0.97 / 40)
....about a bunch of goyim dying in Iraq?

It's not like anybody he cares about is suffering as a
direct result of the war.

Edited on Tue Aug-08-06 07:52 PM by Gabi Hayes
to the blogger, rather than making the correct assignment

this, from The Note, on Davis' OPED:

"Liberal McCarthyism," Lanny Davis in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, on the "scary hatred" emanating from liberal bloggers.

11. Yes, all five of his quotes are from Commenters,
...not the blogger posts.

And Lanny Davis writes:

"Now, in the closing days of the Lieberman primary campaign, I have reluctantly concluded that I was wrong. The far right does not have a monopoly on bigotry and hatred and sanctimony. Here are just a few examples (there are many, many more anyone with a search engine can find) of the type of thing the liberal blog sites have been posting about Joe Lieberman:"

...using a misleading "have been posting" like saying that telephone companies "have been" carrrying dubious telephone conversations.

12. But all things become blurred when the Israeli/ME issue is on the table.
Lanny, is like so many others, a supporter of all policies favoring Israel FIRST, hence his support for Joe. It's Israel first, America second. You must be able to see through the smoke.
