It's official: Malloy to return to NYC radio on Sept. 1
From wwrl1600.com:

But, they are going to carry their own morning drive show with Sam Greenfield and Armstrong Williams. :puke:

So, they probably won't start carrying AAR programming until 9 AM.

1. From what I hear
No AAR prior to noon (Franken).

And yes, Malloy will be live.

What is going to happen to Rachel Maddow!!!?????

If this is what they are planning I won't be listneing before noon, or even before 3PM on some days.
I am wondering now what they are going to do to their weekends...which were really starting to line up very nicely.

6. Sam Greenfield is a NY comic
with a leftwing bent. I did comedy with his wife.

He's good but I will miss Rachel. Not Springer though. I turn off AAR when he comes on.

8. Riley, Maddow, and Springer will still be carried nationally
And online, but not on WWRL. Remember, each individual affiliate decides which programs to air.

Ironic that the "flagship" station will only carry part of the network lineup.

5. For Pete's Sake.
It's bad enough that we don't have a Democratic answer to Fox News television.

But New York City can't even have a 24 hour AAR radio station?

7. They may be able to re-lay claim to "Greatest U.S. City" now.
Welcome out of the wilderness NYC.

11. Not quite...It is going to have fewer hours of "liberal" radio than the
old station did.

12. Yeah, but Malloy echoing through the streets of Gotham
will partially make up for that.

15. I could not agree more.
At least the nighttime will be better. That inane "sisters" show is such
a total waste of air time.
Too bad about the mornings. Nothing will ever replace Marc & Mark in the mornings
When AAR first started and Rachel was on that show with Liz Winstead and Chuck D, I thought that show was pretty damn good. Too bad it was not given the chance it deserved.

16. I Am Pissed!
I am thrilled that Malloy is returning to the New York AAR station. I can't listen except for Friday nights or if I have a day off during the week. Too late for me . . . .

Anywho, I DO listen to Mark Reilly at 5:00am while I get ready for work. This will be a great loss. I fired off a note to AAR expressing my disappointment.
