7. Shelia Frahm was Senator for only a month or two
not a long time incumbent. She was appointed to serve out Dole's term when he ran for president in 1996. She was beaten by Sam Brownback in a special election.

16. This Is The Start Of The New Media. This Is A New Beginning.
This shows that no candidate in either party can any longer be secure within themselves as to their party's nomination just based on the fact that they're an incumbant. This is a new day. This is a big sign of the internet revolution and the fact that the old days are gone and will be replaced by grass roots voices of people who truly make their voices heard.

No one thought this was possible months ago. Nobody did. He had an approval rating that most senators right now dream about: But it wasn't enough. The roots have spoken and we've declared that we demand that we are represented by those we elect, and when those we elect fail we will elect someone anew.

This is a new day for our voice. We know now that we do have power. Years and years from now when the majority of campaigning is done on the web I bet this primary is noted as the first real accomplishment of that trend.

Peace Will, and god bless the patriots of the internet.

19. I am secure in the knowledge...
That a generation of pricks, dunderheads, deadwood and garden-variety jerkoffs, in Washington, are eating Xanax. Atavan and Clonopin by the sweaty fistful right now and washing it down with cheap vodka from the bottle.

It's a warm 'n fuzzy feeling. I love it when a plan comes together.

A digression: Boy, will Markos be in the catbird seat if Lamont wins tonight. It will be berry, berry good to be heem.

and walking around "the bush" in Alaska.

Give us a clean vote and it will be a landslide.

BTW not to long ago bush to me meant either a foundation planting or
someplace that a float plane or canoe would take me.

26. Interesting how the huge majority have been Democrats
Do Democrats have more of a tendency to turn on their own than Republicans? Out of 28 men listed 20 were Democrats and 7 were Republican 1976 James Buckley has a C after his name so not sure which party replaced him. Just an interesting observation I thought

32. Democrats had the luxury
of losing incumbents without affecting their national standing. Republicans were in the same boat we're in now, trying to preserve their numbers against a more numerous opponent.

Ironically, Weicker lost in the same state for the same reason, his party largely turned against him.

35. Lieberman, Joe (i)
This is a cut and paste from this site: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/files/elections/2006/by_state/CT_Page_0808.html?SITE=CTHARELN&SECTION=POLITICS

U.S. Senate - - Dem Primary
423 of 748 Precincts Reporting - 56.55%
Name Party Votes Pct
Lamont, Ned Dem 79,580 52.17
Lieberman, Joe (i) Dem 72,964 47.83

Other than it's tightening up, do you see anything else unusual?

Like the (i) after Lieberman's name?
