If they are truly going to oppose this man, they MUST filibuster!

A no vote will do NOTHING!

Only through filibuster will we defeat Alito.

1. If they don't have 41 votes to filbuster that NO vote is all they have.
It is not meaningless to record your objection.

3. Let's see...45 Dem senators...5 more than enough.
Should be a breeze to get 40 to go along with a filibuster. Unless, the VichyDems back Bush again.

2. Quite right. A no vote is a meaningless political gesture.
Used to soothe the Left who dare to object to another fascist on the Supreme Court.

4. BS - you want them all to go away and shut up because a few are
compromised?

You declaring their votes as meaningless and mere gestures is exactly what the GOP machine expects from the knee-jerkers. They COUNT on it. They have for decades and the kneejerkers rarely prove them wrong.

5. Seems like the VichyDems are jerking their knees to support Bush.
Or, is that getting down on their knees? The rest can still filibuster, even if they are overridden. What's to lose?

6. You are forgetting ONLY 1 dem so far said he will go with Alito

The REPUBLICANS keep saying the vote will be along strictly partisan lines.

44 dems could do it, 43, 42, 41...

And, there is JEFFORDS who I believe we could get on our side...

I think the votes are there, we just need the WILL
