If there's any question about his ability to be a fulcrum for two-party politics in this country, consider tonight's primary results in conjunction with the embrace he received as a vice-presidential candidate, from the Democratic Party and from the American people in their popular vote.

America chose him to be vice-president.

He is a repository of knowledge and experience with deep respect on both sides of the political spectrum. He has bigger shoes to fill.
