Newsday:Lieberman loses Connecticut primary
Political neophyte Ned Lamont won a ground-shaking victory over veteran Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman in a primary yesterday that was largely framed as a referendum on the incumbent's support for the war and perceived closeness with President George W. Bush.

With more than 90 percent of the votes counted, Lamont, 52, a Long Island native, was leading Lieberman about 52 percent to 48 percent.

Lieberman conceded shortly after 11 p.m.: "We just finished the first half and the Lamont team is ahead." He has said he planned to run in the general election as an independent if he lost the primary.

"Tonight we voted for a big change," said a jubilant Lamont.

1. I liked Ned's response on MTP or This Week, that as a business
entrepreneur he understood both sides of the health care issue. He also said on the same show and Colbert that as an enterpriser he knows how to solve problems.

This is my prediction, the big business corps are going to fail due to the economies of scale (we are already seeing that). They keep paying exorbitant salaries to execs and provide lower and lower service for a full service premium. Ned has tapped into the American Dream mentality, and it must have both political and business leaders scared.

In the new Global economy both are becoming irrelevant. It will be the entrepreneurs of the old west that will emerge, unless we have destroyed our educational system far to substantially.
