Where is FEMA in the Texas situation? |
|
You respect the person who seeing someone in a hole, stops and pulls them out. The person who, upon seeing someone in a hole turns his head and walks past without stopping, well you can't really respect that person. Same thing with the government. I'm losing my respect.
Also while I'm here, it seems the republicans consider the government as a way to free the already wealthy from the responsibility of taxes and waging war. This is not a government that I would ever vote for or want.

1. I'm sure I missed it somewhere |

There's so much to keep track of. But, what's "the Texas situation"? All the people still living there from Katrina? The destruction from Rita? Or did some new disaster happen that I failed to notice?

3. Perhaps OP os referring to flooding in El Paso |
|
A couple of weeks of heavy rains has caused something like a quarter-billion dollars worth of damage (and God only knows how much on the other side of the river in Cd Juarez). My brother, who lives there told me that FEMA was supposedly "on the way".
And yes, there are still plenty of Katrina evacuees living here.

I"m sorry to hear about your brother, though. As a former FEMA "helpee", I can say that it's a nightmare dealing with the entire disaster industry (not Katrina, btw, I was in Frances, Jeanne and Wilma in Palm Beach County, FL)
Hope things get better for him soon!
