6. No Red Baiting at all........
I just figured since Hugo is popular among the ultra left (in the so called "blogosphere" - a vary broad term)........ maybe its next on the agenda

11. That's red-baiting
You totally brought up an unrelated subject in hopes of making quite a large number of Democrats appear more extremist when they most likely are not.

5. What implied I would prefer to keep Bush?
I have protested against Bush many times and voted almost exclusively Democratic since I started voting.

21. No implication
I just wonder why you would post something like that. And I posted something snarky in reply to your snarky comment. Ned Lamont is no Hugo Chavez, but YOUR implication was that this would be the logical progression of events from Leiberman losing his seat. So, what DID you mean?

15. If Chavez was on the ballot........
in '08 and you didn't vote for him, then you ARE a traitor--unless of course you decided to vote for Nader, which makes you all right in my book!:+ :7 :toast: :bounce:

14. Even though I believe the Democrats take pleasure in destroying themselves
I wouldn't compare Ned Lamont to Hugo Chavez.

And I don't think Ned Lamont has what it takes to beat Joe Lieberman in the general election.

22. There is the rub
I agree that Lamont can't beat Lieberman in the general election.

The primary was more like: We sent a message, back to reality. The rethugs will put him back in in Nov to keep Lamont out

17. What next?
Find a way to beat him in the general - that is a bigger challenge, IMHO. Independents are the largest 'party' in CT and Joe will no doubt attract more than a few. I'm hoping Joe wins in the general.

19. Hugo Chavez is President
And even an elected, legitimate, non-war-criminal one.

Maybe we can have that next?

OK. Would you care to elucidate? Why do you not like Chavez? Or if you do, why? I doubt you have the foggiest notion who Chavez even is.

25. Locking.
From the rules posted at the top of this forum:

1. ORIGINAL POSTS MUST BE ABOUT A CURRENT EVENT, AND CONTAIN NON-INFLAMMATORY, SUBSTANTIAL CONTENT
If you wish to start a thread in the General Discussion forum about the Middle East situation involving Lebanon, Israel, and the surrounding countries, it must be based on a current news story. The moderators may lock threads which are started with substance-free posts (for example, nothing but a link), or threads started with posts which contain inflammatory rhetoric.
