Underdog Lieberman nearly defeats massive leftist establishment! |
|
On Monday, moderate Democrat Joe Lieberman ended an admirable uphill battle against leftist candidate Ned Lamont, who defeated Lieberman by less than 4 percentage points despite Lamont's massive support from the daunting apparatus of the American Radical Left.
In his concession speech last night, Lieberman vowed to run as an independent in order to represent the diminishing wing of the Democratic Party that still sides with America in the fight against terrorists.
Expect the Republicans to say it. Expect the media to report it. Expect perhaps even a majority of Americans to believe it.
But will the Froms at the DLC run with it too? If there is only one DLC establishment candidate, it was definitely Lieberman. This was not just a vote against Bush and the Iraq War - it was a vote against the DLC Bush-kissing wing of the Democratic Party. This Lieberman fiasco is a perfect microcosm of the awesome dysfunction of the DLC: Lose, fail to learn from it, and therefore stick with what doesn't work and lose again. Rinse and repeat.
Will the DLC possibly conceive the idea that they lost their flagship candidate for the same reason they lost against the Republicans in 2002 and 2004? Stay tuned for the latest antics of the defeat-addicted DLC!

How is LIEberman an underdog? He's fucking 4-time senator and has been in politics for over 30 years! He had the Dem establishment and prominent Repugs rooting for him. He had MORE money, name recognition and clout. He's run for president twice. Someone tell me how they can say that he's an underdog? If anything Ned Lamont was the underdog who rose to beat the shit out of a formerly well-liked senator!
LIEberman is NOT an underdog; he's a SORE LOSERMAN!!!
Go Ned Go!!

4. I don't expect the majority to believe it, and here's why |
|
There is a massive disconnect between what is said on the news and what people see is happening. Too many folks know someone who has been deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, and they know the truth about the conditions there. Too many folks look at their wallets and then at gas prices, grocery prices, etc, and know the truth about the economy. More and more I hear of folks who don't even watch the news because it can't be trusted.

6. Brilliant, brilliant post! I propose we do a series of them, mocking the |

war profiteering corporate news monopolies and all their war profiteer "talking points" and spin. It could be hilarious--and help keep DUers and lurkers alert to the flipflops of the truth, and the topsy-turviness of the so-called "news."
