the majority of the people who vote them in as representatives aren't they?
So if Lieberman was NOT chosen by the people he represents, and isn't man enough to accept his rejection- but goes on to be a third party candidate because his desire to 'be a legislator' is greater than his desire to actually 'represent the people'- then how could anyone vote for him in good conscience?
He's in love with his 'job'- the power, influence, and prestige- rather than in love with being in service to the public- I'm sure this is true for many 'elected' reps, but this is such a blatant "in your face" example of a mans personal aspirations trumping any possible 'noble service' that I feel ashamed FOR him-
This is another example of how poorly elected 'representation' works- Forget the lobbyists, the 'special interest groups', the personal agendas..... how can we truly have our voice heard in government when the 'best' we can do, is vote for the least offensive candidate, rather than a candidate that is truly responsive/answerable to his or her constituency?
Or am I WAY out in 'left-field'?

Can't forget them. Private money should be banned from public elections.

legally the people that he represents are not Democrats but all the citizens of CT.
So he has a perfect right to run as a third party.
Wish he wouldn't, though.
