A plan for Texas - DeLay's seat. |
|
OK, so he is quiting and the Texas GOP must run a WRITE IN campaign in order to defend his seat.
We know that the GOP is funding 99% of at least two Green Party campaigns elsewhere in an effort to dilute the democratic vote, especially with Rickie Santorum. I say that they gave us a great example of what WE NEED TO DO. Let's find two folks willing to run a write-in campaign for the GOP seat. All they have to do is try to take some percentages away from the ann ointed GOP write-in person, and we can count that seat as ours. But, this will take funding and a willing sacrificial lamb. AND someone who lives in DeLay's district.
fair is fair, no? Ane remember who we are dealing with. Texans elected G.W. Bush as governor, fer christ's sake. They can't be that smart, certainly not smart enough to figure out which write-in candidate to elect.

1. that's a great idea -- you could even have a "stunt Republican" |
|
on the ballot -- someone spouting rightwing craziness -- a la Betty Bowers -- as a kind of performance art, which enough knuckledraggers will take seriously that it will still siphon votes...

5. You know, I had the same thought |

I don't live in the right district, but the only Constitutional requirement is that you live in the state. I don't know if Texas has any further requirement that you have to reside in the actual district.
That being said, I think I can steady my gorge enough to parrot RW talking points with the best of them. Who wants to give me seed money?
