13. Did you hear what Melman just said?
First he denied that Rove had called Lieberman's campaign. Said Geroge S's story was inaccurate. Then Tweety said no there was a call. And Melman said the story was accurate.

Now Tweety is saying he isn't talking straight. LOLOL

2. Two reasons
1. Lamont is a millionaire.

2. Tweety doesn't like Lamont. Conservatives always hit the liberal with a label other liberals won't like.

At heart, Tweety's a weasel.

20. I underestimated!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_Lamont

Lamont is the great-grandson of former J.P. Morgan & Co. Chairman Thomas W. Lamont, and has a self-reported net worth valued between $90 million and $300 million

On July 17 the Waterbury Republican-American reported the assessed value of Lamont's Greenwich home was $30 million

8. Because the RW echo chamber is cranking up that tired old cliche
Of Lamont being a Limousine Liberal, to smear him with from now to the election. They're trying to point out some sort of hypocrisy inherent in being a liberal and a wealthy person, when none is actually present. It is a time honored tactic, and really quite tellling of their desperation that they're already trotting it out so soon.

10. A Better Question......

Why does it seem that all elected officials in Washington DC are far wealthier than most of us will ever be....democrat and repuke alike....... I think that is is a crying shame that the balance is tilted that way....

16. That is the question we should all be asking.
Until we have clean elections & paper ballots the majority of this country is not being represented.

18. it's either a lack of respect for Lamont the man or total fascination with
the wealthy and throw in some envy as well. Imo Tweety for all his bluster and spitting has a serious inferiority complex.

and say "You know, Chris, You and I don't need any more money and when I get to Washington I'm going to work to repeal the Bush tax cut for the rich."

21. Liberals are Millionaire Elitists... Conservatives are middle america
middle class average joes... That's why despite Bush being filthy rich they play him off as an everyman whom everyone wants to have a drink with (I'd rather get in a barfight with him myself). Matthews is the worst at purposely trying to portray it that way.

Who cares that Republicans candidates are mostly corporate whores who are rich off their connections... Lamont who made his money from the ground up is rich, and also being a Democrat makes him East Coast Liberal Elite who will always be out of touch with REAL people... :puke:

24. He's utilizing language for a purpose.
His purpose is to make Lamont seem somehow attached to the plight of the average person. The fact of the matter is that most politicians on a national level in our country are millionaires. (Don't tell me Lieberman is poor, Tweety!) Most people cannot take months off work to campaign. Most people don't have the kind of connections it takes to raise millions for a high profile campaign. There are plenty of wealthy people in office on both sides. Hopefully, most people want be stupid enough to fall for his tricks.

25. I agree. As I said on another site,
If they are going to refer to Lamont with the label "millionaire businessman and anti-war candidate" everytime they mention him, then they should refer to Lieberman as "lobbyist influenced, disgraced former Democrat and Bush ally."
