http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4776953.stm
...Mr Lieberman had suggested he might run as an independent if he lost his ticket to run as the Democratic nominee in November, and he wasted no time, filing a petition to run on Wednesday morning.

His petition received 18,000 signatures, Mr Lieberman's campaign said - more than double the minimum of 7,500. Mr Lieberman has formed a new party for his candidacy, called Connecticut for Lieberman.

"I'll always take the calls of friends, but my mind is made up. I'm going forward. I'm going forward because I'm fed up with all the partisanship in Washington that stops us getting anything done," Mr Lieberman told the Today show...(more@link)

1. When the hell will the networks strip the "(D)" off his name?
And what will they replace it with?

3. The mealy mouthed little slug never was a Democrat
all of a sudden he's all macho about being fed up with partisanship. Funny but I can remember him all but giving Mr Partisanship Dick Cheney a BJ on live TV during their debate during the 2000 prez campaign. He's been used by these assholes for the past 6 years and he's gettin ready to be used again.

4. It says something about his ego doesn't it?
That the guy creates a party name like, "Connecticut for Lieberman". Everyone for him after all. Last night he said he was "running for the good of my State, my party and my country". Yep... LieberGOD has to run because without him we're all doomed. He is the next coming Christ after all....

5. Lieberman's still a Democrat
there's nothing in Connecticut that says he would have to leave the party if he made an Indy run. And besides, he'll be caucusing with the Democrats either way although obviously Ned and his lefty stormtroopers will try to convince voters otherwise. They succeeded last time. who knows what happens in November.

6. Partianship?
As practiced by minority Democrats. Gotta be kidding. Joe will help neutralize the likes of Tom Delay and his Senate ilk. Come on Joe, its the Repugs who are partisan and deny Democrats a chance to get their bills considered . Maybe, you become a Repug you can participate in their games.
