Lieberman was on the ticket, but he had little to do with my vote for Al Gore. I voted for Gore because I didn't want Republicans controlling both Congress and the White House! Although I supported Bill Bradley in the primary, I knew even then that Gore would be our nominee.

But I feel better now about those votes I cast years ago, and only regret not being a more active supporter in 2000. Gore has no reason to be ashamed for being betrayed by loserman!

(I usually never listen to right wing hate talk radio, but I had to drive out of town last night and thought I'd see what they were saying) He really pushed this: "The leftist extremists are anti-Semitic...They hate Israel, they hate Jews, they hate America..." meme over and over. He reported on two blogs as examples: Daily Kos and Huffington Post and cited excerpts -- didn't get the specifics but one was a comment about Lieberman's wife -- said he and his producers had examined the blogs over the last few weeks and that "the left blog sites are full of anti-Semitism..." (He had Lanny Davis on to discuss this and who had just written on the subject: http://www.opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110008763 )

What right wing hate talk will do is push this meme, for sure, to make the left look anti-Semitic -- taking quotes out of context, using anonymous posters' responses on a message board, picking the worst of the bunch and labeling any of us on the left as anti-Semitic. It will be part of the PR for what is happening now in the ME, IMHO, for what happened to Lieberman, etc.

On a related note, today, when covering the Cynthia McKinney primary, Faux News focused on her race from the same meme -- 'anti-Semitism' -- repeated over and over. They mentioned that her bodyguards are ex-Black Panthers and had clips of her guards getting in scuffles with media and then caught their comments about 'Israel', 'Jews' and 'Zionists' -- one body guard called one of the camera men a Zionist. In what context the scuffles occurred, I have no idea. What's this is about? I really don't know much about McKinney and her team, or even what this means on the broader spectrum. Anybody know?

The Wall Street Journal op-ed by Lanny Davis doesn't have hyperlinks. That would have let people see for themselves that he's trying to trick them, and thereby prevented him from tricking them.
