If 100 is an average IQ, that puts half the country below it. And look, 48% still believe Saddam had nukes and didn't use them. The bulk of the republican base lies in the bottom of this region. I've spoken with some of them in Missouri. The wall of ignorance around these people is impenetrable.

6. Look, I have said this so many times here and elsewhere, I'm sick of it. |
|
We all have to remember one eternal, absolute, and unfortunate truth: the vast majority of people are fucking ignorant shitbagging idiots. Even those who vote Democratic are, for the most part, self-centered moran fucking fools who are voting Democrat not because they realize it's better for all of humanity and the safest and most moral choice, but because they think it will benefit them personally more than voting Republican.
The older I get and the longer I associate with people, the more I realize that my idealism of youth, in that, if given the chance, the vast majority of humans will do what is right for the species, is utterly and forlornly ignorant and wrong.

They've done it to this country and it's been decades in the making.

16. What A Misleading Poll. |
|
Almost all of those that responded in error were over 55, and more than likely the overwhelming majority of them were over 60.
At that age a lot of details just start to not matter as much. I think this poll is misleading and misguided, and the premise itself is faulty.

increased over the last few years?
But egaaad! That "can't remember the year of 9/11" is even worse...pathetic. I'll guarantee that too, those same people are ones constantly invoking the date to justify every thing this administration does.

24. The first thing I thought of when I heard this was George Orwell. |
|
The people in the novel have no conception of the world before the Orwellian order described in the novel. It's like, "everything has always been this way," war is peace and everything else.
I think a lot of Americans don't consciously think about how the world was before 9/11, and how it has changed under neo-con rule. Since they foget how much things have changed, they don't remember when things changed...the date loses significance because it seems to them things have always been this way...unless they stop to really think about it, which they don't.
Scary.

28. we have been "Amusing ourselves to Death" as |
|
described by Neil Postman's book. The advent of computer games has only accelerated the trend. People don't even go outside or to the beach anymore.....at least that was a recent story on the news in Milwaukee.....fewer and fewer go to the beach.
We are evolving into a new species that zones out on electronic media and religious fanaticism.
I can't say living this reality is any better.

29. Not necessarily a bad thing..some may have resumed their lives |
|
without succumbing to the "9-11 changed everything" propaganda.
I certainly won't forget it but others are simply not calendar-focused and some draw a line around their personal psyche and personal lives to keep from falling prey to the vicissitudes of our culture.
