Best damn news I've heard since the 2000 election... |
|
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 11:55 PM by TwoSparkles
I just heard a poll number on CNN that I thought was worth repeating. Let the good news sink into your hearts, if you haven't digested this statistic yet.
Joe Lieberman's approval rating--going into the primary was...60 percent.
Let's rephrase that: People liked Lieberman. They thought he was doing a good job. He had a high approval rating.
Yet. He lost. He couldn't hold onto his Senate seat--even with a 60 percent approval rating.
Ladies and gentlemen...hold on to your butts--because anyone and anything attached to BushCo is total toast in the upcoming elections. Even if your constituents think that you're a swell guy--you are not safe. Across the board in this country--the majority of Americans are sick of Bush, sick of the Iraq war, sick of the lies, sick of the corruption, sick of the scandals, sick of bungling fool who is our pResident. It's not just Democrats--many Independents and some Republicans are distancing themselves from BushCo--and this is clearly reflected in all national polls.
America wants change and they want it yesterday.
All Republicans up for re-election are shaking in their silk boxers tonight. They understand that there's no way to undo the damage caused by years of being a BushCo lemming. They see what happened to Lieberman--a well-liked Senator--and it happened SOLELY because he was perceived to be too close to Bush. Republicans understand that there are hundreds of sound bytes that can be used against them in very effective political ads (Iraq war, Terri Schiavo, Katrina, the deficit, etc).
Did you listen to right-wing-radio today? They're so angry and anxious--they're emotionally splitting at the seams. They know the end is near. That's why we're hearing Dick Cheney conjure up his old shtick, "A vote for the Dems is a vote for Osama!" Desperate words from Republicans who know the party is nearing an end.
The nightmare is almost over, folks.

to god's or the goddess' eyes, let it be so.
There won't be much left to salvage, but we have to reclaim our nation.
Not just for our sakes or for our children, but for the future of the entire world.

4. But They Disliked King george In '04 Also |
|
But he got about 48%, and that's all they needed to steal it. Let's hope the American public gets wise this time, and really kicks them in the butt.

5. Actually, I think that right wing wacko radio idiots....... |
|
relish the thought of a Dem Hill AND a Dem POTUS. All they care about is rating/money/controversy and when we have the Power back in our hands, they will have more to BITCH about. I really believe in my heart that they want a power shift....it will only mean more shit on their plate to shove down the throats of the freepers.

6. Here's a couple more things to throw in the pot. |
|
I saw a report on CBS that 80 companies had admitted to being under investigation by the SEC for back dating stock options at times when stock was selling particularly cheap. Monster.com is one. And did you happen to catch the oh so sorry shit from CEO of BP Group for shutting down of the Alaska line for not one but looks to be "several months." ??? The people should be good and sore come November and I can't fucking wait!

10. I'd bet my boxers there is a lot more |
|
bad news coming down the pike for republicans in these ongoing investigations too. Let alone, what we don't know yet.
I believe there is a monster storm coming with some whistleblowers that are just getting up the courage to blow their whistle.
I can't explain it, but I have that feeling, and it is very very strong.

19. Hi, Justice. Carpatho-Rus heritage. |
|
Grandparents hailed from Carpathian mtn. region of (then) Austria-Hungary. Customs & food is quite similar to that of Polish culture. Czechoslovakia's neighbors. I feel very close to them in many ways.
You play *5* instruments? Whoa! Who do you do gigs for? Yer not in PA, are you?!
Nobody doesn't like a good polka! Do you have any czardas in your repertoire? (Forgive me, all, for posting off topic.) :*

11. The nightmare won't be over until Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld |
|
are indicted, tried, and convicted of war crimes and put in prison where they belong. We need fresh air blown through all branches and levels of government. That is going to take a long time. The Lamont win last night was barely the stirrings of a very small breeze. Hopeful, yes. But significant? November will tell.

13. Got diebold? The republicans do. The Democrats don't. Unless you |
|
can figure out how to take Diebold out of the equation, your next president is whomever the GOP damn well wants it to be. My money is still on Bill Frist as their top pick.
Sorry to be a downer.

20. This is good news, and needs to be voted up. |
|
It really iterates the fact that when diebold is not used against us, our voices can be heard at the voting polls. We can actually unseat a candidate that is at 60 % approval rating, and wealthy.
