Yep Murray and Cantwell Send Form Letters.....

I sent an e-mail to Sen Murray and Cantwell(WA) about A-lie-to and both replys were exactly the same

From Cantwell.......Dear Friend,

Thank you for writing to express your views on the nomination of Samuel Alito to be Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court. I appreciate your input on this critical issue.

As you may know, the President nominates individuals to serve on the United States Supreme Court and it is the constitutional responsibility of the Senate to advise and consent on the suitability of those individuals to serve in the position for which they have been nominated. While I am disappointed that President Bush did not choose one of America 's many well-qualified female jurists to replace Justice O'Connor, I look forward to the debate before us. Judge Alito's nomination now awaits a vote from the Senate Judiciary Committee before coming to the full Senate for further consideration.

I take my Constitutional responsibility as a Senator to advise and consent on executive nominations extremely seriously. While I recognize the privilege of the President to select his nominees, I believe it is critical that we conduct a comprehensive evaluation of each nominee's qualifications, since Supreme Court judges are expected to impartially interpret our nation's laws during their lifetime terms. Please be assured that I am committed to making carefully considered and independent judgments on every nominee based on a thorough review of his or her records. Of course, it is vital that any lifetime appointee to the highest court in the nation possess the breadth of experience, character, and wisdom necessary to review the most significant, complex, and far-reaching legal questions of our time

Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. Finally, you may be interested in signing up for my weekly update for Washington state residents. Every Monday, I provide a brief outline about my work in the Senate and issues of importance to Washington state. If you are interested in subscribing to this update, please visit my website at http://cantwell.senate.gov . Please don't hesitate to contact me if I may be of any assistance in the future.

Sincerely,
Maria Cantwell
United States Senator

From Murray............

Thank you for contacting me about the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to
succeed Sandra Day O’Connor as Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. I
appreciate hearing from you about the important matter.

As you know, the U.S. Constitution charges the Senate with advising on and
consenting to presidential nominees to the federal bench. I look forward to
reviewing Judge Alito’s record in detail as his nomination is considered by the
Senate. I consider the Senate’s advise and consent role to be one of my most
important duties as a U.S. Senator, and I look forward to going through this
process again.

Following the withdrawal of Harriet Miers, I called on the President to take his
time and appoint a nominee who represents mainstream judicial thought and who
would unite the American people and the Senate just as Justice O’Connor’s
nomination did two decades ago. The hasty appointment of a nominee without
consulting Senators from both parties was disappointing. I am pleased that the
Senate Judiciary Committee has chosen to begin confirmation hearings in January,
providing ample time to review Judge Alito’s nomination.

I believe that every Supreme Court justice should be fair and impartial,
even-handed in administering justice, and committed to the protection of the
rights and liberties of all Americans. Because the Supreme Court plays such an
important role in our political system and the lives of every American, the
Senate must take its time in considering Judge Alito’s qualifications for a
lifetime appointment to the Court without rushing to judgment.

Rest assured, I will do all that I can to learn about Judge Alito and actively
participate in the Senate’s confirmation process. I appreciate hearing from
you, and I will keep your views in mind when making my final decision on Judge
Alito’s nomination.

Again, thank you for contacting me. If I can be of service in the future,
please be in touch.

Sincerely,

Patty Murray

Im going to call them now, I have a feeling both of them are going to allow A-Lie-To to to be confirmed.....
