Lieberman loses, CODE RED, CODE RED, CODE RED
http://americablog.blogspot.com/2006/08/lieberman-loses-code-red-code-red-code.html

Americablog is saying what I am thinking this morning:

No, really.

Bush just invoked a Code Red terrorist emergency, our first ever.

And isn't it queer that the emergency is declared within a day of Republican party leader Ken Mehlman launching an all-out offensive against Democrats following Joe Lieberman's loss in Connecticut, an offensive in which Mehlman, the White House and Republican operatives are claiming that Democrats no longer care about national security or the war on terror.

And just at that moment we get our FIRST ever red alert. Beam me up, Scotty.

Do I sound as if I don't believe this alert? Why, yes, that would be correct. I just don't believe it. Read the article. The say the plot had an "Al Qaeda footprint." Ooh, are you scared yet? That means they found NO evidence whatsoever that the plot had anything to do at all with Al Qaeda, but the plot simply made them think "gosh, this is something Al Qaeda would do." Nice, but no cigar.

Why am I skeptical? Bliar is on vacation, not coming back, even handling the ME conflict with telephone diplomacy. This investigation had been going on for months. He knew it would culminate now and still went on vacation. George the Goof is on vacation with his "wife" Condi. Party on, Wayne.

1. I don't believe. But I can't believe Joe's loss would cause this, either.
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 07:49 AM by Atman
They're quaking, for sure. I know their own internals showed Joe would lose. Then there is the Karl Kall. Joe's loss, despite what the sniveling freepers think, bodes very ill for the republican party. There is absolutely no model which shows them winning seats or even maintaining their control of the government in November, so they're obviously on the offense now. But a RED ALERT? Really? I dunno...

(ON EDIT) BTW, I agree with much of the analysis. The language they're using has all the marking of a scam. "Al Qaeda footprint" is indeed a giveaway that they found something, but using AQ is much, much scarier and is better at whipping up the fear.)

13. Wouldn't they have orchestrated this a day or two BEFORE
the primary, hoping to scare up (so to speak) votes for Joe? That would certainly have been a lot less costly than his having to fight in the general election.

14. think about this...
When an average (or below average) fool feels fear it motivates him. Anxiety motivates him to induce fear in others. I'm not saying this has ANYTHING to do with Lieberman, but keep in mind, that election is more than a wake-up call for Democrats that haven't strongly and openly rejected the war.

Whatever the current whoey represents, I think we need to name and study this new mental illness, which appears to plague adult male chimps. I suggest we call it the CHICKEN LITTLE SYNDROME.

4. I thought it was foolish of me, but the first thing I thought of was
"oh yeah, Joe lost, the world will be dangerous now '....Uh oh, Code Red.

You just can't help but be skeptical after all those phoney alerts right before the 2004 election.
How come, right after the 2004 election was stolen, the alerts mysteriously stopped?
NYC was on high alert for practically 4 years.....Irony of ironies, NYC
was one of the locations that had their security funding drastically cut this year.

I stopped believing everything I hear.

5. I was wondering to myself just last night
that every time we gain an inch and we start to get out hopes up that the tide has turned, BushCO has to launch a distraction. I was wondering what it was going to be this time. Wake up this morning and bingo, there it is Front Page News.

7. This is probably why Bush and Condi
have been holed up in the bunker.

If you haven't noticed, no one has seen Laura, Cheney, Rove, Blair and many others in over a week now.

8. Of course not - ANY President functions from multiple locations,
including mobile CPs such as AF1. The Oval is just a place and the key to effectiveness is information and communications, not real estate. If the White House were so important, NO President should ever venture outside when they could cower in the White House and its deep bunker.

FDR knew and lived this - Yalta for example.

Five damn YEARS without a Red Alert. And suddenly--two days after Lieberman gets his ass handed to him, ONE day after Tony Snowjob says the Angry Extreme Left wants to Cut-N-Run from the War On Terra--here comes A HEINOUS AL QAEDA BOMB PLOT!!!! Batshit, ratshit, catshit, horseshit, BULLSHIT.

Can someone please whip out that handy graph that shows how, whenever bu$hler's ratings went down, a Terra Lert was issued?

Make no mistake, the White House is scared shitless of the Angry Extreme Left. The DLC is scared shitless of the Angry Extreme Left. The Publicans are scared shitless of the Angry Extreme Left. 60 per cent of the American Public is opposed to the War On Iraq and fed the fuck UP with Congre$$, thus aligning themselves with the Angry Extreme Left.

The only option left to bu$hco is to cook up another Terra Plot and "foil" it." It's all they have, outside of mounting and/or permitting another attack on US soil.

Remember New Orleans

PS: Booga! Booga! Terra! Be afraid! Go SHOPPING!

Buy stock now. Since it won't be allowed on planes, people are going to have to double-up.

16. No, its the latest poll numbers on terrorism - GOP isn't trusted anymore
ABC News/WaPo Poll released earlier this week showed US now trusts Dems more to fight terrorism than GOP.

GOP has lost their only issue, their only means of controlling voters - they're trying to regain their edge here.

19. Yes, Rove moved into action as soon as the CT polls closed

I have to say that staging the fake plot in the UK was a stroke of genius. Straight-talking John Reid seems so believable with his Scottish accent.

And this is really a two-fer as they also wanted to distract attention from Mel Gibson.

20. "al Qaeda footprint"
Footprint? Not "fingerprint"?

Listening to US CNN now. It was breaking live late last nite on CNN (they switched to CNNI feeds) so I was ready for at least a solid 48 hour coverage here in the States.

It's positively remarkable how al Qaeda terrorists extremists plan operations around our elections. Remarkable. :sarcasm:

The timing is evidence to the contrary of the conspiracy theorists. If you want to influence an election, time it BEFORE Lieberman's primary.
