Are these the only 'facts' in this UK terror arrest?

A) The UK Gov't says they arrested 21 people in their homes last night in the UK.
B) They say that there was a plot, but so far there is no indication of how developed this plot was.
C) There have been no reports of actual explosives being found yet, just apparently plans to use explosives.
D) Nobody was actually on a plane, or in an airport, when these arrests occurred. All of them were at home, asleep.
E) Police say they have found 'interesting items' during the raid, but no reports of actual weapons, bombs, etc...

Is that it? Are these the only facts as we know them so far?

(if you know more, I'd appreciate a link. This is all I've been able to find this morning).

this crap is really starting to piss me off and thinking about all the jerkoffs sitting around the u.n. figuring out how to make a buck from all the death and destruction just makes me want to vomit.

4. I wouldn't downplay this

I was in London for the subway bombing the other year and I lived in the UK for four years while doing my PhD in Glasgow (from Shankhill to Canary Wharf). I can tell you that the British have had long experience dealing with terrorism, and, aside from shooting the occasional innocent man, they do a fairly professional job. They've had the experience that this country simply hasn't had. I'd hold off on saying stupid things until they put more of the story out.

They don't have the same rules as the US. The press doesn't behave in the same way, so don't expect it. Just wait and see what happens.

5. Is it stupid to ask what the facts are?

Here in the US, they are playing this like they caught the guys as they were getting onto the planes with bombs.

And it's not as if all the 'experience' the UK police have with terrorists doesn't mean they don't make mistakes. Sometimes horrible mistakes. Ask Jean Charles de Menezes.

11. Don't expect too many more 'facts', for legal reasons

English law is far stricter than American law about prejudicing trials. If the police start talking about potential evidence to the media, then jurors can get rejected because they've been biased by hearing the police case outside the controlled system of the court. If many of those arrested are released without charge, this also helps not to make the police so foolish, handily.

But there are some rumoured details - that the targets were American airlines (American, United, Continental, I think). The arrests were mainly in London, but also High Wycombe (just outside London), and Birmingham. Those arrested are mostly, if not all, British.

That the British Police found 'interesting items' during the raid on the house in Forest Gate a few months back.......which later turned out to be nothing.
