...of a suspicious object." Or you could go BOOOM! Really.
Darynn Kegel just emphatically stated this, as if it was very important information they forgot to tell us.
Excuse me...I have to go curl up under my bed with my duct tape and plastic wrap now.

2. Oh DON'T post your paranoia HERE... |
|
WMD'S! TERRA ALERTS! NITRO FACTORIES IN AIRPLANE TOILETS!
Why does anyone believe any of this?
And WHY has DU become "MYSPACE" for grownups?
Fine. If someone wants to believe that a "POTENTIAL" terrorist plot to smuggle bomb MAKING materials on to a plane was thwarted, I can recommend several very potent anti-delusion medications.
You would think that going on 6 years of this would wise people up that if the Bush administration and their Toadies overseas said it was sunny outside, packing an umbrella would be advisable.

5. Hey, Tyler...you're wanted in another thread... |
|
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=1871714&mesg_id=1871714And btw, what do you mean "don't post my paranoia here?" How about you not posting your cryptic messages here and then abandon the thread! It's pretty clear I wasn't posting my "paranoia," as I think it's bullshit.

11. wow, that's DANGEROUS!!! |
|
So, if I'm walking on a city street on my cell phone but I have to be constantly monitoring the sidewalk, storefronts, objects in the seats of cars parked at the curb, passing dogs/cats, people around me who may have 'suspicious objects' in their pockets or handbags to make sure I'm not within 50 feet of anything that my phone might make go BOOM....won't I at some point trip and fall to the sidewalk, smashing my face or whatnot and being seriously injured?
This security stuff sounds dangerous, very dangerous.

13. I don't think that's how cell phone detonattion works |
|
anyway. I think that they use a cell phone in the bomb as the detonation trigger. When that number is call- boom.
Cell phones are regularly pinging the transmitter. I a bomb was built to be set off by a cell transmission- it could happen without making a call.
This is a typical case for news media types who are clueless as to how things work but act like they know it all.

15. Yeah, watch Mythbusters |
|
They had an episode where they tried to get a cell phone to ignite some fumes. They set the fumes so high that you would run away, not stand around with your phone. They couldn't do anything to get an undamaged phone to ignite fumes. They stopped just short of calling the whole thing "bullshit", probably for liability reasons.

16. The cell phone could set off explosives in the cargo hold.... |
|
With all the luggage that was checked in & NOT inspected.
Of course, keeping cell phones out of the cabin would prevent that. But--what's to stop someone on the ground from sending the Phone Call of Doom? After all, many cell phones worked long-distance on 9/11.

17. Just being on could set off a detonator charge |
|
The newer Cell phones don't have much transmission power. But an electric detonator doesn't take much of a current. So if you believe you are near an explosive device with an electrically fired detonator. The cell phone should not be ON.

Because, you know, you could, like, you know, set off a, a, a, a, explosion of something with the power of your mind. Wear a tinfoil shield over your cranium at all times or, or, or, you could die.
