4. Is she, in fact, Robert Kagan's daughter?
It's not a highly unusual name. Do you have a link or just a rumor?

5. I should have checked before posting. I had read that on a thread
posted a long time ago on DU and assumed it was so. I just went and checked and Robert Kagan's children on his PNAC bio are David and Elena. Sorry for the booboo.

It is not a common name though.

6. Since Robert was only 5 years old when Daryn was born
... I'd be more inclined to believe thay're siblings.

Robert was born in 1958 and is the brother of Frederick.
Daryn was born in 1963.

(Daryn) Kagan is Jewish. Her great-grandfather was a Russian immigrant named Eiser Cohen who came to the United States through Ellis Island. Her mother, Phyllis Kagan, is a breast cancer survivor who has appeared on CNN discussing the disease.

In September 2004 it was reported that Kagan was romantically involved with conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. During his October 6, 2005 show, Limbaugh mentioned that he received an email message, from his "mistress in Georgia," that praised a speech made by George W. Bush. This email was widely speculated to be from Kagan. However, CNN later denied Kagan made the statements attributed by Limbaugh to his "mistress in Georgia." Kagan and Limbaugh apparently broke up in February 2006 <1>.

Daryn has a sister named Kallan.

Robert Kagan (born September 26, 1958) is an American neoconservative scholar and political commentator. He graduated from Yale University in 1980, where he had been a member of Skull & Bones. He is a co-founder of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) and was one of the signers of the January 26, 1998, PNAC Letter sent to US President Bill Clinton. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Robert's brother Frederick and father Donald are also prominent American neoconservatives, and also affiliated with the PNAC.

Kagan worked at the State Department Bureau of Inter-American Affairs (1985-1988) and was the principal speechwriter for Secretary of State George P. Shultz (1984-1985). Prior to that, he was foreign policy advisor to New York Representative and future Republican vice presidential candidate Jack Kemp (1983). Kagan is a Senior Associate with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Kagan, who has written for The New Republic, Policy Review, the Washington Post (monthly), and the Weekly Standard, now lives in Brussels, Belgium, with his family.

He is married to Victoria Nuland, the current U.S. ambassador to the NATO and has two children, Elena and David.

9. RW Kagan born in Athens NY
According to this site, Robert W. Kagan was born in Athens NY. His relatives have different names than Daryn's. It appears they are unrelated, or at most very distant cousins.

8. I read where she's leaving CNN to start up an "inspirational"
website.

Ah, someone to look up to in these trying times.
