1. If they did mine they'd find an interesting mix |
|
Sam Waterston, translate English to Spanish, brown reclues spider pictures, squirrel pictures, cockroach pictures. All but the first were for work.

...Even if I was searching like "Global Thermonuclear Warhead," my Constitution protects me to my right to privately do it.

and now there are ways to get the critters to leave without "exterminating" them (though we do that as well). But we have a lot of customers who like the fact that we use non-chemical products to help with pest control. I'm hoping that repellant/non-chemical pest control will become the majority of our business in the coming years. Right now, it's maybe a fourth.

11. as long as you don't work for tom delay, that's ok! |
|
as for killing pests, it's hard to blame someone for wanting to kill brown recluse spiders and roaches and rats that are in their homes. squirrells on the other hand.....it seems like there are non-lethal ways of keeping them away.

13. How to get squirrels out of your attic |
|
We are having a lot of calls recently about squirrels getting into attics. Here are some tips that I culled from pest control texts and put into a brochure (wanted photos for it, that's why I was looking online for squirrel pix). Feel free to use them if you don't want squirrels to be a problem:
1. Keep squirrels from gaining access to your house by cutting overhanging branches. It is wise to prune tree branches at least 10 feet so they cannot leap to the building.
2. To keep squirrels off the trees entirely, place a 2 foot wide metal band around the tree trunk, 3-4 feet above the ground.
3. Check these places to make sure there isn't a place where a squirrel could gain entry into your home: Utility lines Drain pipes uncapped chimneys Ivy clinging to house Attic/basement vents Broken windows

14. for some reason squirrels aren't a problem in the cities down here... |
|
....we have them in the rural areas and the rain forests though. i don't see nearly as many squirrels as when i lived in the states. in fact, i see more squirrel monkeys than squirrels. if i had squirrel monkeys in my attic (if i had an attic) i'd be happy though.
more likely to get bats roosting in your attics here. i lived in a small house for a month of the pacific coast near quepos and a colony of bats lived under the roof right above my bedroom ceiling. you could hear them all day and night.
the biggest pest problem i see down here is termites. they seem to be everywhere.

8. Lots of Good Stuff on Google |

I Found DU by googling for "Reichstag Fire" http://www.google.com/search?q=reichstag+fire&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:officialgoogle images for that is pretty interesting too: http://images.google.com/images?q=reichstag%20fire&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=N&tab=wiI think a reasonable correlation can be made between the number of recent google hits for "Reichstag Fire" and the number of people who understand what our government is really up to. This could be called the "Reichstag Fire Index". This is the scariest place in the whole world if you are George W. Bush: http://images.google.com/images?q=peace%20palace%20hague&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=N&tab=wi
