If bush knew about this plot for days, why didn't he warn us? |
|
too busy clearing brush and fundraising on his vacation?
five years after nine eleven and he still gets terror warnings and forgets to warn us.

2. Maybe they wanted to arrest the suspects first? |
|
Or I suppose they could have had a super secret announcement available ONLY to the US citizens to let them know and not tip off the suspects.

14. I know you have all the answers |
|
and that I don't.
I'm just guessing here and don't have access to your inside information.
My guess is that they were monitoring the suspects by watching where they were going and were listening to their phone calls and knew when they planned their mission. My guess is that if all of a sudden the TSA prohibited the types of carryon items that they planned to use, they would know someone was on to them.
Please don't be too mean to me for being an idiot. I'm just guessing. I know you are right and this is a plot to distract from the world shaking events in CT the other day.

3. Or at least increase security at the airports? |
|
Why not ? Because there was no credible threat.

13. maybe exposing it immediately would also foil it? |
|
I don't see how sending out a warning to flyers would somehow be a bad thing.

16. I guess one would have to know more about the investigation to know |
|
according to the official line (or at least, what I heard on the news), british authorities were gathering a great deal of info from the investigation, but had to cut it off suddenly because they came to believe that the executuion of the attack might be imminent. I have no idea the truth of that.
But it does make sense that the longer one keeps the investigation open, the more information they can get (and the more useful that information might be), not just about a specific plot but about the organization and the structure behind the plot. Sending out a warning to flyers would also send a warning to plotters and to the rest of that organization/structure. Also, we don't really want authorities flooding our circuits with warnings every time they begin an investigation--we've gotten enough false alarms over the last five years as it is.

12. The UK has known about it for months. Would it have happened if Joe |
|
had won CT? Would it have happened if 60% of Americans did not disapprove of Bush's wars? Would it have happened if Israel and the US weren't becoming world pariahs for blowing up Muslims around the world?
It's politics at it's worst. It's not about planes and safety. It's about maintaining fear to maintain the terror wars.

18. If in fact that is real |
|
There were no warnings to any of the airline personel. If they had sent this warning they most likely would have warned the terrorist that security was on to them, thus disbanding until the focus went elsewhere allowing them to perfect there plot for use at a later date. the idiot knew what the BRITISH were working on but not enought to give a comprehensive explanation to anyone else. I think they did that on purpose. I think the message is that we are safer when we have a gov't that can work well with other countries to help with security issues and that we need a CIC that has a brain and knows how to help dipomatically instead of being a hinderance to everyon else in the world.
