bush: "this is a stark reminder that we are at war" |
|
...with Islamic fascism".
Not al qaeda, not hezbollah, but the all encompassing Islamic fascism.
I don't remember anyone officially declaring war, or did I miss it?

20. I'll only believe we are at war when |
|
rich kids star ducking their Guard service after signing up to avoid the draft. And of course that's after signing up for a coveted spot you were bumped into ahead of hundreds of others due to daddy's political pull.

31. We got hit on 9/11 apparently because he was on vacation |
|
rather than doing his job (that's if you belive it was through incompetence, not by design).
Then he declared a war on terror.
And, he was so concerned about this war, he continuted to take a month of vacation each year during the war.

5. so the war on terror is now a war against a religious economic movement? |
|
For a man who says we're "staying the course" he sure does flip-flop a lot about who we're fighting.
First it was Al Qaeda and Osama; then Saddam; then terrorism; then Saddam; then back to terrorism; then the insurgency; and now we're fighting a war against a religious economic and political movement.
You know, it's getting damed difficult to keep track of who we're fighting from day to day.

9. We are still living perpetual 9-11. there is no yesterday and no tomorrow. |
|
Edited on Thu Aug-10-06 11:56 AM by kenny blankenship
Time under Fascism is reckoned only in plots against Dear Leader and the Homeland thwarted--not in any sequence of days or years. The threat will never pass, the war will never end. And yet Dear Leader and the Homeland are always more and more heroic and successful. Our people's enemies are crushingly huge and their plots are omnipresent and more devious than we can imagine, and yet they have no chance. Fascism is composed of paradoxes.
There were no diaries or journals in Oceania. They weren't allowed to be kept nor were they made for sale. The moment Winston began to keep a journal to record his passing days in for someone else to study later as an object of history, his days began to be numbered, as he perfectly well knew.
There is no tomorrow and no yesterday, and there is no today--there is only 9-11.

13. No. This is a stark reminder that when you attack another |
|
country for no reason and support aggression against a group of people, that they will fight back, and if they don't have a formal military, they will use asymmetrical tactics, like guerilla fighters or suicide operatives.
That is all.

So, we need a TERRA ALERT to keep America's mind off a replay of the horrifying images, and Anderson Cooper showing us how effed up N.O. still is a year after Bush stood in front of glowing St. Louis Cathedral and promised help.

when terrorist acts were criminal in nature not the basis for a fekkin war!!!!! This administration might as well put up recruitment signs in the ME, "WANTED, TERRORISTS, so we can have a war". This is the greatest scam the people of this country will ever experience!!! If they would have treated this as a criminal case instead of murdering innocent people, we would have LESS terrorists than more by now. Every wrongful action that is done in our name recruits more terrorists--every child that is killed in these actions, recruits more terrorists--when people have nothing left to lose, they become more desperate. And who are the fools in this endeavor? The American people and those being recruited on the other side. I'd say we are all being played!!! So what's the difference between Islamo fascists, fundie fascists and neo-con fascists? Inquiring minds want to know. Is it the belief basis of their certain flavor of fascism? Remember fascism is government and business against the will of the people. So, does that make Islamic fascists-corporatists with an Islamic flair?

Not that * is a master of English but doesn't fascism by definition require state involvement? I thought these were stateless entities. We are at war with the world - at least anyone in it that disagrees with our idea of worldwide manifest destiny IMO.
