When speaking, British authorities actually sound like they might have
a clue. I just heard a clip of Chertoff and he sounded like an idiot in comparison. I just cringed. If there is something to this plot, thank god it happened in the UK - where people get a decent education (at least, in comparison to the US).

2. That was my impression from the morning British press conference.
Part of the reason I think this is not part of some darned hoax.

4. Don't judge all Americans by the neocons
They're greedy and evil, but most of them aren't that bright.

7. I agree the neocons aren't bright, but Americans are very poorly
educated in comparison, overall.

9. Correction:
The smart neocons are greedy and evil. The stupid ones just get Hannity and Limbaugh to tell them what to think.

5. From the Guardian:
"The US attorney general, Alberto Gonzalez, said it was "suggestive of al-Qaida tactics". British officials were more circumspect about the background to the plot than their US counterparts, stressing that they had to be careful about what they said because there could be trials in future."

Our government is trying wayyyy too hard to connect this with the September 11th attacks so they can ride that terror wave again.

11. If they do connect it, it could be bad for them....

Dems are already spinning this one right. It is an indication that once again, a plot against the US might have succeeded on Bush's watch, and that only great work by the British prevented it.

Need to hammer that fact home. 9/11 happened on Bush's watch, and it almost happened again.

10. the plot was to defraud the people outta elected representation
by stealing the 2k usa election....everything else is part of the barearsed emperor's (bush) plot -there might even have been a scheme to blow up a/c heading for usa, but why not do something easy, like infect cows with hoof/mouth, or seize a nuke plant or something; why does everything constantly empower the fascists?
notice the dow went up....lol
