Orwellian Friday
Some thoughts from George Orwell for this Friday:

"All the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting."

"Early in life I had noticed that no event is ever correctly reported in a newspaper."

"The aim of a joke is not to degrade the human being, but to remind him that he is already degraded."

"War against a foreign country only happens when the moneyed classes think they are going to profit from it."

"In accordance with the principles of double-think it does not matter
if the war is not real. For when it is, victory is not possible. The
war is not meant to be won, but it is meant to be continuous."

3. "War against a foreign country only happens...
when the moneyed classes think they are going to profit from it."

THAT is the most important concept for the people of this country to grasp.

Democracy? No.
Liberty? No.
Freedom? No.

Profit? YES!

Powell and Crashcart look like they think they're posing for GQ. Rummy has his usual psychotic stare and Bush looks typically clueless. The rest, :puke:

during the Corporate Media's "March to War"

Interesting interview with vanity Fair regarding photo shoot in January 2002

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0201/09/ltm.16.html

excerpt, again from JANUARY 2002:

"The White House, Karen Hughes especially, the White House communications chief, had remembered a story that Annie had done ten years ago, in 1991, on the heads of the Gulf War at the time, and had approved our request based on remembering that story."
