I'm not interested in hearing about the Israel/Hezbollah war
I'm sick and tired of hearing about the IsraelLebanonHezbollah war. I just don't want to hear about it anymore. I kind of feel like we don't really have a dog in that fight. If you have any advice about how to ignore it all, I'm all ears. We have problems here at home, anyway.

1. Go to Disneyland. Those of us who know the US is very involved in
this will continue to confront that reality. and work to end it.
Meanwhile, the US is speeding weapons to Israel to kill more of the children of Lebanon.

Don't think of that while taking the "It's a small world" ride. It will not feel good.

2. Tough shit.
Israel asks Bush to "hasten delivery of short-range rockets.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Israel has asked the Bush administration to hasten delivery of short-range anti-personnel rockets armed with cluster munitions, which it could use to strike Hizbollah missile sites in Lebanon, The New York Times reported on Friday.

Sourcing its report to two American officials, the newspaper said the request for M-26 artillery rockets, which are fired in barrages and carry hundreds of grenade-like bomblets that scatter and explode over a broad area, is likely to be approved shortly.

But the newspaper said some State Department officials want to delay approval because the rockets, while likely effective against hidden missile launchers, would also likely cause civilian casualties if used against targets in populated areas.

The United States has already approved the sale of the M-26 rockets, but the weapons had not been delivered when the Lebanon crisis erupted. Israel needs the rockets now, officials said, because it has been unable to suppress Hizbollah's Katyusha rocket attacks by using bombs dropped from aircraft and other types of artillery. The shipment might be approved along with a directive to Israel that it must be especially careful about firing the rockets into populated areas, a senior official told the paper.

The conflict between Israel and Lebanon directly effects U.S. interests and very well might compound our problems.

4. Don't have a dog in the fight? Are you serious?
To the Muslim world, Israel's attack on southern Lebanon is no different than our destruction of Iraq. The rhetoric of the Bush administration including the Idiot in Chief's latest comments only add gas to the fire.

9. I'm much more interested in domestic issues
with the exception of the Iraq War. Otherwise I'd rather hear about the minimum wage, health care, education, the environment, jobs and stem cell research.

13. No problem, in regard to DU, there is the hide thread option,
there is the option of not clicking on a thread about the Middle East Crisis. Turn off your television, except for BB, the favorite for those who wish to live in a bubble.

The great thing about choices is one can choose not to start threads about being tired of the war....or not.

14. Do you pay taxes? Then you have a dog in that fight. A Monster Dog.
Your tax dollars are buying the weapons that are murdering innocent Lebanese civilians.

Or was your post in jest?

15. Actually, we do have a 'dog' in that fight.
"Hezbollah attacks on civilian targets prompted the United States to label the group a terrorist organization. In 1985 three members of the group hijacked a TWA flight and killed Navy diver on board. The group also was involved in the 1992 bombing of the Israeli embassy in Argentina that killed 29 and the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center that killed 85, according to the U.S. State Department. Hezbollah denied involvement in the 1994 attack. In June 1996, the group bombed a U.S. military housing complex in Saudi Arabia, killing 19 U.S. servicemen and wounding 370. Fourteen Hezbollah operatives were later indicted for that attack."
