I will stand with Hillary... |
|
Edited on Sun Jan-01-06 06:15 PM by mdmc
...if she receives the democratic party nomination to run for reelection to the senate. Democratic party anti war Senate candidate Steve Greenfield is right on all issues, but most likely won't topple Senator Clinton. If she get the parties nomination, then I will stand with her! Who else is with me?

Russ Feingold has the stature to get the nomination and run successfully for President.

I respect and admire Hillary Clinton enormously, but she is such a polarizing person, I don't think she could beat the Republican opponent(whomever that may be-and if it's McCain..well, she's be humiliated!)
I think we Dems have a real challenge ahead of us; we have to be realists.I freaked when Kerry (once again, fine man) was nominated..he never stood a chance against Bush.I think Wesley Clark could have, if he'd entered the race sooner, and he might be just the man for the job in 2008.
Bottom line, we have to nominate a candidate with our heads, not our hearts and we have to VOTE, dammit!
edited to add: My apologies...I didn't read the post correctly...I was talking about the 2008 presidential election.

If Hillary gets nominated for the U.S Senate, as I think likely, I will lend my nominal support because I do believe she would be far preferable to any Republican running against her, that said,
(1) I'm not from or in New York, and therefore can't vote for her.
(2) As far as monetary support, forget it because, 1 I'm not rich, and, 2 There are many far more crucial and closer races where wining might be both harder but still possible and more likely to make a difference, and, 3 I could feel better about donating to someone whom I could support in my heart rather than as the lesser of two evils,
(3) As far as supporting her for President in '08, 1 I don't think I could support her in the primary, 2 God help us if we have to support her in the general election, and 3 It does not seem likely that we'll have to make that choice.
