That's actually the main reason why I don't believe every terror alert or thwarted plan is a made up Rovian conspiracy. Because it doesn't do them any good anyway!

I rememeber some graph awhile back showing that terror alerts now no longer help Bush at all.

I find it hard to believe we are dealing with people smart enough to pull of such elaborate hoaxes without getting exposed, but dumb enough to not realize it doesn't do them any good.
