The repubs want the democratic party destroyed so they have no opposition
They've gone after the Democrats main funding groups: unions and lawyers. They've tried to get African Americans on their side, even though they disenfranchise them during elections. They've made congressional rules to make sure the Democrats can't do anything. Why do the Democrats keep helping them? If you being killed, isn't kind of normal to fight back? The Democrats have fallen for every trap the repubs have set for them - including this Iraq invasion. Are they committing suicide or are they that stupid?

1. They're goal is a one-party state
Like the Soviet Union, only under extreme fascism.

2. Creating tribes. So they can build up the hate. And get people to
vote against their best interests. They think they should decide the world. Hubris. Megalomania.

The one thing democracy is supposed to do is undo tribal or cultural groups - and get people to believe in the democracy - that if they vote they should expect not to get "everything they want" but they will get what they need.

Anti-democratic.

5. Of course they do. That life at it's most basic, reptilian level.
It is animal nature to try to dominate all opposition. However, humans have reached a level at which basic instincts have to be understood so that they don't lead toward outcomes that are bad for one and all. That's supposed to be the big difference between crocodile logic and human logic. For reasons unbeknown to me, the Republicans seem to be operating at about the emotional level of your average crocodile.
