A gang of youths has vandalised headstones at a Jewish cemetery in Greater Manchester.

A total of 27 gravestones were pushed over in the attack on Tuesday at the Jewish Cemetery in Urmston.

Greater Manchester Police claimed the attack was not racially-motivated but said that security had been stepped up at the cemetery on Chapel Grove.

it's disgusting. even if it's teenage pranks and not racially motivated,the person has to be a real asshole to think that is something funny.

5. I think it is motivated by bigotry

The biggest threats to the Jewish community in Europe today are from ultra-rightwing groups like the Neo-Nazis and from militant Islamic fundamentalists. I could be wrong, though, and it could be a bunch of idiotic teenagers, but I guess I'm too cynical not to think the worse.
