Flaming Socialist? Not Anymore.
Now I consider myself a flaming Jeffersonian.

Here's my optimistic rant:

2. This nation had profound birth defects...
but it was still created in the passion of liberty (at least for rich white men.)
We must take the liberties that were once applied to the rich white men, and apply them to everyone else.

4. Wealthy white men are not allowing that by peaceful and constitutional
...means, so I guess if that is to be done it will require a revolution.

3. The Jeffersonian Party is far too libertarian for me.
From their platform at http://www.jeffersonianparty.com:

Summary of Principles
1. Eliminate all Federal laws, programs, and agencies where authority is not delegated to the Federal Government by the specific enumerated powers of the U.S. Constitution.
2. Eliminate the progressive income tax, and all other Federal non-uniform taxes.
3. In foreign trade, establish reciprocal tariffs levels and regulations.
4. Terminate U.S. membership in the United Nations.
5. Make military instruction a regular part of education, and protect "the right of the people to keep and bear arms" for the defense of themselves and their Nation.
6. Establish a Constitutional Amendment for Federal involvement in education.
7. Establish a Constitutional Amendment for periodic congressional renewal of Federal judges.
8. Establish a Constitutional Amendment Convention to be held every twenty years.

as the pugs.

7. Jefferson is rolling over in his grave at the use of his name
From the site: In the year 2000, nearly 175 years after it’s dissolution, the Jeffersonian Party reemerged as a voice for states rights and constitutional adherence. It's mission was simple: assist the reelection efforts of U.S. House and Senate members who support and adhere to the founding principles of Thomas Jefferson.

It claims as its members in the House of Representatives

The "libertarian congressman"/voted against the Patriot Act Ron Paul (R - TX) 14th District

The Conservative Republican who promised term limits but lied as to applying the idea to himself John Hostettler Indiana - 8th District - - - whose platform calling for returning to the Constitution as the nation's governing document (a reference to judicial activism), balancing the budget, cutting taxes, reforming welfare, and strengthening national defense is a con job by a Delay team member riding Christian conservatism and money from Peabody Energy, Rutledge Oil Co., Heritage Petroleum and Lockheed Martin, Americans for a Republican Majority which is a PAC formed by Tom DeLay, and indeed money directly from Tom Delay’s congressional committee. But he does pass one DU test - he was not in favor of going to war in Iraq.

plus
conservative John Shadegg Arizona - 3rd District

Laura Ingraham alternate host the conservative J.D. Hayworth Arizona - 5th District

retiring in 06 honest conservative Joel Hefley Colorado - 5th District

largely conservative with a slight libertarian streak/voted against the Patriot Act C. L. "Butch" Otter Idaho - 1st District

5. A very nice rant -

A very nice rant - and I hope you are correct that Democrats will be winning in the future - and I hope they win with candidates that are not impotent,

But I fear the non paper ballot has made Stalin's thought even more scary - and indeed who counts the votes being more important than what the people vote is the message of 00, 02, and 04.

As an aside, I was going to post at your site, but there appeared a need to "join" something that had terms of service and fees mentions over about a 4 page document - before you were allowed to post.

And I'm tired and can not understand it all - so no post.
