"how fortunate we are" - he's not talking about the American people. He's talking about his evil cabal. And they are fortunate - by stealing the election in 2000, they've had 6 extra years to eat the poor. And, Gore would never have allowed any of them to get away with any of their shit and if they had tried, they'd already be in jail.
