11. Doesn't surprise me, 36% of the Republican party doesn't support the war
If only 84% of Democrats are against the war in Iraq, that means 16% percent aren't. We know from another recent poll that 60% percent of America is against the war in Iraq. Usually one would assume that about half of the country is Democrat and the other half Republicans (look at the elections in 2004.) That would be 20% of the republican party, but we know that not all Democrats are against the war, so add to that the percent of Dems for the war (16%) and you get 36%. 36% of all Republicans are against the war in Iraq. That is a pretty big number if you think about it. More than 1/3 of the Republican party is against the war.
