Dean really nailed in on MTP
Did anyone else catch Dean on MTP? I just happened to tune in when David Gregory welcomed him to the show, talk about great timing!

Dean went on to hit on most of the major points regarding what the Dems would work for compared to the Rethugs. He addressed Lieberman's whiney-ass comments superbly. Said his statement that the Dems have been taken to the extreme left was "unfortunate" and the comment that the terrorists were celebrating Lamont's win was "outrageous". Mentioned how when he lost his hard fought primary he got right behind the Dem nominee and so should Joe, that's how it works.

I couldn't get over how effectively he got in a great set of talking points and how often he managed to do it. What a great job he did for us.

:toast:

4. Thanks for the information
Dean's actions after his loss in Iowa show what a true Democrat does-he not only supported Kerry, but he worked to help the entire party with his 50 state strategy. Makes Lieberman look like Littleman, doesn't he?

I woke up to find Mr. Lamont on Faux Suxs (argh) and now I've got
HLS Chertoff on MTP and Rep. Jane Harmon on Face the Nation.

I expected nothing less from Dean! I LOVE Dean's outrage!!
:applause: :applause:

I missed 'This Week' with Feingold though. Did anybody catch that?

Is Lamont still coming up on Face the Nation?

I'm half asleep and just getting :donut:

Idiot Rovian Propagandist,Melman is a wing-nut appendage who has no idea what integrity and truth is. Sad that this fool is given any credibility by the main stream media.

Dean was spot on and I'm proud of his considerate, yet straight out there approach. Let's have some leadership that thinks and works with sense for world unity, security, global environmental health, national health care, and securing the middle class.

34. Dean does need to start explaining detailed solutions on these shows
Simply saying "We need to focus on NK and disarm them and keep Iran from getting nukes" just isn't enough.

He needs to set the standard for the platform for FIXING things and not that Bushco are doing things the wrong way. And, that message needs to be repeated by all the Dem candidates.

Hope, promises to fix the problems, optimism, etc. will win the elections. Bashing Republicans will jade undecideds.

30. Dean: President Bush Is Not Doing His Job On Defense Or Domestically
Press release on this appearance:

http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=70654

"...I think President Bush is not doing his job on defense or domestically."

"...the American people are tired of George Bush's policies. They want a new direction in this country, and the voters have spoken... The way to help this country is to limit Republican power. They have failed in the budget. They have failed in Iraq. They have failed with Katrina."

"The Republicans hope, once again, to win an election based on fear. You know, fear-mongering, whining and complaining and name calling is not going to lead America. We need a new direction in America. We need a new direction to defend America and we need a new direction to make the homeland safe, not just in terms of safety from terrorists but safe for the middle class again." War On The Middle Class

"I just got back from North Dakota. There's not more than a war on terror going on in this country, there's a war on the middle class going on. You know, those folks need help. And we need help domestically. We need a change in this country. We need a new direction.

"This is a President who has been bad for America. You should see what's going on in North Dakota. Farmers who haven't had any drought relief, people losing their health care. The President's paying no attention to the middle class. Kids want to go to college. They can't do that now because the President's cut their Pell Grants. There's a lot of problems in this country not being addressed.

"We need a strong middle class to make America strong again, and with Democratic leadership we'll have that middle class strong again with the ability to go to college, with the ability to count on your pension, and with the ability to decent health care."

President Bush Not Doing The Job Defending America

"The President has failed to defend America. Since he has been in office, the number of nuclear weapons in North Korea has quadrupled, Iran has moved closer to nuclear weapons, Osama bin Laden has set up shop in Pakistan five years after the fact. I think one of the 9/11 chairs just said it very well, if your top priority isn't defending the America homeland then you're not doing your job.

"We need a much different strategy....What we should have been concentrating on is getting rid of the Taliban once and for all in Afghanistan, who are now making a resurgence. Making sure that Iran does not have nuclear weapons. That, we cannot afford to allow. And, to make sure that North Korea is disarmed. Those ought to be the major priorities, because if nuclear weapons get in the hands of terrorists, we have a much more serious problem than Saddam ever posed to the United States or to the region.

"...we believe (on the war in Iraq), along with the majority of the American people, that this war was a mistake and that it's a complete lack of leadership for the President of the United States to say, 'well, we're going to leave this to the next President.' That is not leadership."

To:

"Republicans have failed to defend America. Since they have been in office, the number of nuclear weapons in North Korea has quadrupled, Iran has moved closer to nuclear weapons, Osama bin Laden killed 3000 Americans and has since set up shop in Pakistan - five years after the fact. I'd use the term "Republicans" in place of Bush when possible. We're not running against GWB in THIS election.

And:

"We need a much different strategy....What we should have been concentrating on is getting rid of the Taliban once and for all in Afghanistan, who are now making a resurgence. We need to add "capturing Osama Bin Laden" as a priority as well.

Overall, excellent statements by Howard Dean!
