Feingold: Joe Lieberman ‘Doesn’t Get It’
Feingold: Joe Lieberman ‘Doesn’t Get It’

Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT) echoed Vice President Cheney last week by arguing that a timeline for Iraq redeployment (backed by 57 percent of Americans) “will be taken as a tremendous victory by the same people who wanted to blow up these planes in this plot hatched in England. It will strengthen them and they will strike again.”

This morning on ABC’s This Week, Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) responded to Lieberman’s remarks. “Joe is showing with that regrettable statement that he doesn’t get it. He doesn’t get it,” Feingold said.

if Lieberman stays in.

2. Russ is right.
For Joe Liebeman to be anywhere NEAR Dick Cheney's take on the Middle East is evidence that he doesn't get it, and a reminder that the Bush administration is a gaggle of bloodthirsty ego-maniacs.

Good for Russ Feingold.

5. Israel.
Joe's just terrified that Iraq will be allowed to threaten Israel again. Never mind they're separated by Jordan and Syria. They would still be a threat, and Joe can't tolerate the idea.

It's why he's willing to split the Dem vote to get a pubbie into office. He thinks the pubbies will be better for Israel.

That's what the press doesn't seem to get about Joe.

11. I don't believe that's his motivation.
If it is, he's extremely simple-minded, and while I don't respect the way his mind works, I don't think he's that simple.

The neocons don't really care about Israel qua Israel. For them it's just a strategic piece on a chessboard. I think for them, this is a war about who owns and controls the chessboard: the US or anyone else.

6. Joe taking sides with Dick Cheney is Joe's problem in a nutshell.
Edited on Sun Aug-13-06 09:20 AM by Hubert Flottz
The man is a total sellout! The 10% of the time he didn't vote with the democrats in the senate did far more damage, to middle class and poor Americans, than the 90% of the time that he voted with the democrats. The people in Joe's state were paying attention this time and they saw right through Joes lies that had always worked in the past! I think the wool has been pulled off of the sheep's eyes nationwide now.

What good is voting for single issues anymore, when the fate of this nation is at stake? If you don't have a free country anymore, then the rest will not matter much. We have to derail the neocons now. Two more years of what we've seen so far, will probably be the end of our freedom and liberty forever. If Joe don't care about that, then he is a totally selfish moron. A modern day PNAC/Benedict Arnold.

8. Lieberman
I remember when the Democratic candidates were debating in 2004, Gov. Dean stated that our policy between the Israels and the Palestinians should be more evenhanded, as it would be in our interest to do so. Lieberman immediately objected to this statement, saying that the two parties should make an agreement between themselves. This showed me his interest was more in favor of Israel rather than the interest of this country.

12. That was great.
I like Feingold, but I wish he wouldn't build up McCain the way he did. McCain is a disgusting POS, and for Russ to say he could "win easily" just seems like a very odd thing to do.
