I'm so sick of it.

"If we pull out of Iraq now, it will turn into a civil war." It IS a civil war!
"if we pull out of Iraq now, it will become a haven for terrorism." It's a haven for terrorism NOW! Not to mention the fact that there were no terrorists in Iraq when we went in there.

Idiots! Now we've got an Iran-friendly Shiite government in Iraq. Good job Bush!

1. Just asked to Lamont "isn't that a recipe for chaos"
Edited on Sun Aug-13-06 09:52 AM by Zen
Ned Lamont "it's already chaos"

Asked about Liebermans idiotic comment:

"they're already celebrating the fact that they have us bogged down in a civil war"

This is on Face the Nation.

2. "an Iran-friendly Shiite government in Iraq. . . . "

While Iran makes a deal with China for Iranian oil which will go through a pipeline that China will help them build across Iraq to ports in Lebanon. This will ensure the economic ascendency of China and India, while multi-national corporations ship our jobs abroad. And is also one of the reasons that we don't seriously care that Israel is destroying Lebanon again.

The rest of this picture includes how the occupation of Iraq is a government bail-out of failed American oil-business men. At the beginning of the Occupation of Iraq, domestic oil cost more to get out of the ground than they could make off of it at about $11. a barrel. They're doing quite fine now, thank you, even though they made bad business decisions that made their cost of doing business rise so high that they could not meet their over-head. How much of that do you suppose had anything to do with Bonuses?

My recent LTE re Cheney and Terrorists in Iraq:

Even by today’s standards, it is unusual for a vice president to call a special news conference and comment on primary election results. Is it possible that Vice President Cheney, with fore-knowledge of events that were about to transpire in England this week, was setting the stage for the U.S. public learning that occupation of Iraq does not stop Terrorism? Is Cheney a politician? Do politicians use media to influence the Public?

Vice President Cheney’s remarks about Ned Lamont’s primary victory encouraging “the al-Qaida types“ may also have been a reaction to a bipartisan survey of 100 top American foreign policy researchers published by The Center for American Progress in June 2006. Eighty-seven of those 100 report that occupation of Iraq damages our efforts to defeat Terrorism.

Perhaps Cheney would prefer that we believe all Terrorists are in Iraq and all are scared of, not motivated by, death and dying.

3. As it turns out
Americans are similarly motivated by death and dying (the ones with any morals, anyway).

5. I'm highly motivated by morals and my morals command me to
Edited on Sun Aug-13-06 10:22 AM by patrice
Live and Let Live, because that is the best manifestation of "morality" there is, i.e to live it.

But - I know what you mean about the common understanding of what it means to be moral.

4. Its funny how they always have it both ways
We are in Iraq so we can fight them over there instead of over here...flypaper.

If we pull out of Iraq it will become a terrorist haven.

6. You mean the gov't there that we fight for and pay to keep in power
with our blood and billions would become a terror sponsor as soon as we leave?
In that case the only way we can prevent that is by staying FOREVER!
Do I have to point out that even if our resources were tens times as great as they are we could not stay forever? Is it necessary to point out the immorality of asking American families to give up the lives of their young to simultaneously prop up and guard against a government of terror sponsors?
GET OUT OF IRAQ NOW.
