Republicans say we can't leave Iraq because bin Laden wants us to leave? |
|
Edited on Sun Aug-13-06 10:58 AM by NNN0LHI
Does that mean if bin Laden says we have to stay in Iraq then we should leave?
Since when does what bin Laden says decide our foreign policy?
Don't these idiots think bin Laden might say the opposite of what he wants knowing we have imbeciles running this country?
If bin Laden says don't go jump off that fecking bridge over there does that mean we have to do the opposite and go jump off that mother?

3. Unless bin Laden is dumber than * |
|
he wants us to stay in Iraq forfuckingever. He gets lots of new recruits that way and we get to spend ourselves into third world status, deplete our military and piss off the two or three countries that don't already hate us. This couldn't have gone better for bin Laden if he had planned it. Hmmmmmm.......

4. this is a clear example of why the republicans need to be replaced |
|
they still don't get it. Al-Qaeda (and any other organization or individual who threatens our country, our allies, or our interests) wants us bogged down in Iraq forever. They enjoy their freedom because Bush took his focus off of catching the ringleaders of the most vicious attack on our country since Pearl Harbor for a trumped up invasion and occupation of a country with a two-bit dictatorship. Now Bush and his republican minions in Congress want licence to continue to pour our nation's resources and lives into Iraq instead of in pursuit of the one who taunted and lured us there.
Saddam and Osama both are smiling and laughing at us.

5. Hence the term "reactionary" |
|
It's a brainless, amoral stance based on intellectual and moral sloth - anything the "enemy" is for, a reactionary is against. (We see a LOT of this on DU, too.)

7. I guess Republicans are saying |
|
That bin Laden has a hotline to the White House where he gives foreign policy tips to *?
Osama, "Hey George, wassup? Can you get your ass out of Iraq, I can't handle all the new recruits signing up for Al Qaeda these days. We constantly have to reorganize and our middle management is getting stretched to the limit having to manage so many new recruits."
George, "Sorry, buddy, we need Halliburton to make a few billion more. And, if we run the US military into the ground, we can hire all mercenaries for the next war at 6 times the cost of a regular soldier... and, we can run them through the Dept of Interior so they are not subjected to that annoying Geneva Convention. So, no can do for now. By the way, how's the new baby doing? Did you get the baby shower gifts?"

8. What I didn't hear the Rethuglicans |
|
say on the news shows this am - is that our presence in Iraq, in Saudi Arabia and throughout the ME is what is fueling terror cell recruitment - and has fueled recruitment in AQ and other terrorist groups for the past decade at least.
However, one smart thing was said that rang truer than most of the blather this am... as long as the young muslims are out of work, fighting poverty, they will be drawn to joining terrorist groups or the culture of death. (Maybe Kean or Hamilton said this on MTP?)Poverty is the issue that needs to be addressed first around the world. Without hope, why would young people anywhere support their community, their country? They will be susceptible to anyone who gives them hope, gives them respect, food and shelter.

And just for the record, IMO, Melman is an ass-hat and couldn't take a breath without spitting lies. He has the perfect job for his limited talents.

9. Thanks to Bush, the Iraq war is a great recruitment tool for bin Laden. |
|
Why would bin Laden want us to leave? Bush is creating terrorists faster than our military can kill them.

just like the "pro-lifers" don't give a fuck about the fetuses...
He just wants to keep in his cave and plan more terrorist attacks.

12. Nice framing....if only a few leading Dems would frame it that way maybe |
|
there would be some great Campaign Ads this fall. Let's hope this gets around to some "important folks" in campaigns if any of them are here.

Bin Laden wanted the US to leave Saudi Arabia...
We did
so yes in a way BL did dictate US foreign policy.
The US is still in Okinawa but largely gone from Saudi Arabia, fancy that.
and last time I checked there weren't any Japanese hijackers on the planes.
