Post something positive that you're thankful for |
|
Ned Lamont. Saw him on TV this morning, and he was great. Defeated an incumbent in the primary, and did it fair and square. :dem:
My candidate Bryan Kennedy. He is a fantastic candidate and getting better all the time. The momentum is just starting to build. Our senator (Feingold) headlined a fundraiser this week and I got to shake his hand. :loveya:
Ted Kennedy. Hits the nail on the head every time he speaks. :patriot:

I just learned this week that my candidate was a John Edwards delegate from WI in the 2004 primary - he worked on his Senate campaign when he was in grad school at UNC.

It's good to see that a few people still have a positive attitude. My big-heartedness right now is going out to Casey. I'm immenseley looking forward to his skewering of Mr. "Man on Dog" Santorum. Burn in Hell, you crazy fuckers... burn in Hell.

12. that 3 congressional seats could shift to dem, in Indiana this fall. |
|
Seriously. Folks are angry herein Indiana. They don't like the extremism in DC (an awareness which began with the Schaivo mess), they find Daniel to be an arrogant bulldozer of a governor - which somehow has woken them up to the fact that the little napolean rather resembles W in his demeanor (which has lead to sinking poll numbers for bush and daniels here) - and more and more moderate republicans and independents are expressing a desire to "send a message" to the GOP, to Daniels and to Bush.... through their congressional vote in November. For that I am thankful.

I'm thankful that the RAND corporation suggested a new type of communication to the DoD. I'm glad that the DoD was too ignorant to create it themselves so they turned to educators and researchers. I'm glad those educators/researchers (Tim Berners Lee, Vint Cerf, John Postel, etc) forced the DoD to give us a public Internet. I'm glad Senator Al Gore fought to institute government funding for the World Wide Web.

18. I have to be thankful for hubby of 40 yrs who is a repuk but |
|
votes dem. I know, I don't understand it either except his father was a repuk county commissioner with a good reputation for many years. Not much to be thankful for in politics for Fla. Christ will win (the votes have already been counted). He wants to carry on with Jeb's legacy (destroy everything, leave nothing in tact). Harris will loss which will be a plus.
But let me tell you about my granddaughter. Now, that is something to be thankful for!!! To distract from all the terrible things going on in the world, I spent time with her. Makes life so much fun.

19. I'm thankful I haven't got a terminal illness, but |
|
I wouldn't be even mildly surprised if I were diagnosed with something lethal in the next few days.
But seriously, I'm thankful for my three children. My little fellow climbed into bed with me last night and cuddled so lovingly. Every now and then he'd wake me up to say, "I love you SO MUCH, Mama." Who needs a man when your six-year-old loves you unreservedly and forever?

28. I am thankful for all of you who give a care about this sorry world. |
|
It is my belief that the world is mostly populated with people who either chose or were driven to apathy and accept the sorry state of the world as a standard instead of a starting point to move forward.
I salute you all, even those of you with whom I most strongly disagree- you represent an important an powerful minority of persons who have taken it upon themselves to try to change the world by bettering it based on your own ideas of what it should be, not what it is.
Thank you,
PB
