Is there hope for CBS?
I hear Bob Strang (Robert J. Strang, CEO of Investigative Management Group and CBS Analyst on Terrorism) being interviewed on CBS yesterday. He did what I thought was a pretty good job. He emphasized that it was police work that broke the case, and stated quite clearly that "We already have the tools" to fight these battles. He spoke of warrants and FISA authorization.

Is it wishful thinking, or is CBS still less corrupted that the other biggies? Or should I suspend judgment until perky katie debuts?

1. 60 Minutes is the last remaining connection to past glories

CBS, under Viacom's ownership, is more concerned these days about flash-n-trash and quick profits.

If they really cared about the Cronkite/Rather tradition, then someone like Aaron Brown would be anchoring the Evening News, instead of Ms. Perky.

Though I do like the CBS-owned all-news radio stations like WBBM in Chicago. No political nonsense - just straight news.

3. they would be atop the ratings if they went liberal. -that's not possib
given their corporate ownership. they'd go for the celeb-trash, sex-scascandal stuff first.

4. They would be atop the ratings if they just played it straight
with the American people. Help us get the Country back to its Ideals.
