Considering that there have been IDF reports of Hezbollah using Syrian territory for launching rocket attacks, I can think of the following:
(a) Syria is getting ready for the next insane step on the part of Israel,
(b) Syria is getting ready for an all out offensive into Southern Lebanon, to expell the IDF.
Either way, IF this is true, things are only now starting to get interesting.

My guess is that Israel's attacks along the Lebanese/Syrian border prompted Syria to step up defenses.
