New Zogby Poll Reveals that Dems Nationwide Support Lamont
Lieberman announced he would continue his re-election bid as an independent, He appealed to people across the country to send their support - and maybe a campaign contribution - to his headquarters.

A new Zogby Interactive poll shows he shouldn't waste too much time waiting by the mailbox.

An overwhelming majority of Democrats - 79% - nationwide said they are glad that the three-term senator was defeated by Lamont, who ran a powerful anti-Iraq war campaign. They also said Lamont's victory over one of the few pro-war Democrats in Washington makes them optimistic they can win control of at least one of the two houses of Congress in November.

2. I hope our Dem candidates nationwide are listening and start appealing
to the independents about the need to wrap things up quick and get our troops home.

Independents joined the Democratic Party in CT in record numbers to be able to support Lamont.

4. I wonder what the three Dem Senators backing Lieberman think?
They probably plan to get even more DLC Senators to back HolyJoe.

5. Faux News said Lieberman would beat Lamont and the Republican
according to their polls. Of course, they probably polled the DINOS.

Kirsten, another DINO was on Fox and she said that Lieberman would win.

6. Gee, nearly 80% of the Democratic rank and file, nationwide, and all those
indies in CT who voted for Lamont, love "the terrorists." It would be funny if peoples' lives weren't at risk.

But I think what we're really seeing in the crap Cheney, Rove & Co. put out is not anything that is intended to be convincing. Who--in a country where 65% to 70% of the people disapprove of them, and have for several years, and where 56% of the people opposed their war way back before the invasion (Feb. '03--I'll never forget it) even before all their lies were exposed, and where 84%(!) in some polls disapprove of any U.S. participation in a widened Mideast war--believes them any more? Only their hard-core rightwing lame-brains and billionaire buds. So why do they say these things? They're not going to get any more faithfulness out of their hard-core.

I think it's "talking points" and illusion spinning, to explain their mysterious "comeback" victories this fall, AFTER Stolen Election III. Their lapdog pundits are going to say, "Well, it's because they attacked Lamont, and HIT A RESPONSIVE CORD IN THE NATION which is STILL worried about "terrorists"--especially after the plot discovered by the British," or "It's because gay marriage is still unacceptable to most Americans," or "It's because Americans are really worried about all those cheap labor maids and gardeners and field workers pouring over the border from Mexico." And who knows what else they will fit into this rigging before November? Osama un-iced? "Gulf of Tonkin" in the Persian Gulf?

It's all set up. Diebold/ES&S do their bit with the trade secret vote tabulation software, and it's all over but the "talking points" that give it plausibility, in retrospect.

And the other reason that Cheney & Co. just say any old thing that enters their minds--one unfactual, unsupported, lying, deceitful or "swiftboating" statement after another--is they know there will be no accountability. They succeeded in rigging the election system while American slept. It's going to take America a couple more years to really catch up with it (the most black-holed major story in American history). And by then they'll have so much power, they will be dislodgeable. They're pushing for more and more extraordinary, extralegal powers every day. There is no check on them--not from us, not from the Diebold Congress or the Corporate/Opus Dei Supreme Court, and not from the war profiteering corporate news monopolies. They can say anything they want to. It DOESN'T MATTER if anyone believes them--as long as the progressive majority thinks that OTHER Americans believe them, and believe that they--the majority--are in the minority.

Demoralization of that great progressive American majority is what they are up to. Not convincing anybody.

Way out of this: Massive Absentee Ballot voting this fall. Boycott the rigged electronic voting machines. Let them sit idle! Don't vote on them! It won't get us accurate vote counts this fall--that is impossible (AB votes are not "safe" either)--but it COULD--if it's big enough--freak out our corrupt state/local election officials, and get them to the table. FORCE reform NOW--on our basic mechanism of power, our vote.

7. Note: Zogby is the most reliable pollster. And he said that Bush's
numbers were so low leading up to the 2004 election that he could not win.

What he should have said was, Bush's numbers were so low leading up to the 2004 election that he could not win FAIRLY--that is, could not win without significant tweakng of the secret vote tabulation code by his buds at Diebold and ES&S, nationwide, and the nasty going's on in Ohio.
