bush gets "Terror Bounce" even though Chertoff says U.S. wasn't targeted.
I read this morning on CNN that Michael Chertoff says that the U.S. wasn't even targeted by the alleged U.K. plotters, although bush said it was all weekend, including on his radio address.

The term "Terror Bounce" is very revealing, and mostly contrived I'm sure. But it shows that that's what this may have been all about, bush sucking up vibes from this alleged foiled plot and claiming that the U.S. dept. of homeland security is somehow making us safer.

In my opinion, that's what this whole war on terror is about, getting a terror bounce for our leaders, to show that they and they alone can keep us cowardly Dumbericans safe in our little beds at night.

I also read somewhere that the British wanted to hold off for
another week or so but the administration demanded that they move forward, obviously so they could get the bounce after the Lamont election.

1. Got a link? How much of a bounce. I just went over to CNN and can't
find anything about this.

What I've read and seen so far is that bush** is DOWN in all opinion polls on all issues.

2. CNN TV is where they reported the terror bounce.

with the sub title writ large on the lower screen Terror "Bounce". But the Chertoff bit was on their website.m I'm sure this so called bounce is hardly noticable.

3. 33% Approval is a bounce?
If it weren't for the Fundies and the Xtreem RWing the Busholini approval rating would be around 18% the same as Darth Cheney.

7. Chertoff was everywhere telling us that the Constitution was inadequate
Police required new "agility" and powers to counter the new 21st century threats.

10. ...it means the presidency has become a marketing effort with no substance
Our political landscape has now joined the TV world - it is all about the ads. Vacuous, empty, valueless.

12. The polls I've seen show a "bounce"
that's within the margin of error. More of a hiccup in my estimation.
